Retrofitted 92 serpentine system onto an 85, question about belt

Has anyone else retro-fitted the serpentine system from a 1992 GTA onto an 85? This was a necessary mod I had to do before installing the P1SC system. I also have both the smog pump and A/C delete idlers. Now the question I have is: Do I need to run a shorter belt? Reason I'm asking is because when I put a stock 92 length belt on, it's almost at the worn-out line on the tensioner, and within two months, the belt has stretched out to the point that under 1000rpm it just rattles away on the tensioner, which is quite noisy, and vibrates like you wouldn't believe. Now I've seen people have belts last year after year; and I hate changing this belt, because it involves removing the head unit and blower brackets. If anyone has any input, I would really appreciate it. Thanks a lot guys!

It sounds like you need a shorter one.
Do it now to save more repairs down the road.

Really? There was only two wires to worry about, the one going to the hot post on the back, and one that went back to the car, a brown wire I believe. I bought a 3 wire connector to plug into the alternator, cut the un-needed one off, and used a butt-connector on the other. This was almost two years ago, so I can't remember all of the very few headaches I had when I did it.
