Head modification
Has anyone tried or had their alum. aftermarket heads drilled and tapped for center bolt valve covers, when they are perimiter form the factory (trickflow, afr,).... I seen a good deal on a set but I really want center bolts

You'd have to weld bosses in the middle of the head first.
I'm not seeing it, but hey, it would be original!

I have seen the kits that allow you to convert a perimeter style valve cover to a center bolt before. I saw the add in "Car Craft." I believe that the cost was $70.

Depends on the head. I machined a set of AFR's to accept centerbolts (they were perimeter bolt heads), but I wouldnt advise following my path
If the head wasnt offered by the manufacturer as capable to use both styles, like Brodix, it wont happen unless you do some welding or use the adapters.
