Inconsistent Nospark condition
Ok heres the delima,
A while back i would be driving and suddenly the car would feel like it hiccuped but actually the tach zeroed out and the car came back to life. At this point it was never a big deal.
Then it started stalling but starting right back up.
Then it would stall and have a no spark condition for 5 or 10 minutes whenever it felt it was time to come back to life it would.
My problem is now i need to get it fixed asap.
Here's my list of ignition components,
Stock HEI pre-87 with MSD dust cover
Stock coil(my accell 300+ coil broke)
Accell 300+ Spark Controller.
I have checked and rechecked the wiring, its actually a very simple wiring scheme. I just cant find a loose wire.
I have never heard of a coil working, then deciding not to and work again. So, i havn't really considered that to be the problem.
I havn;t heard of any reliability problems with the 300+ but then again there is a lot of internet.
What can anyone else ponder as a solution so i can fix it tomorrow?

yes i might have to go back to the older style module for a short time, but the worst thing about this problem is you cant always make it happen, sometime the car will run great, but soon as you need to get somewhere it occurs, so you never really know if you fixed the problem until your stuck in traffic.

Re: Inconsistent Nospark condition
is your accel box getting hot? modules will fail when they get hot, the accel box probably would too

Re: Inconsistent Nospark condition
problem is temperature has no connection to the times the problem happens. It can sit for a day and come to start it no spark, 5 minutes later, it has spark. can drive it for 3 hours, no problem, then the problem happen, can dirve it for 20 minutes and it comes back.
it doesn't seem to be temp related. but i dont know of any parts in the ignition that can even theoretically work and then fail on different occaisions.
seemingly working fine today got me to work, but i am constantly crossing my fingers while driving becuase i know it will happen eventually.
just hope i can get it fixed as soon as possible.
