383 Stealth Ram Z28 vs Z06
I am in the Army and currently in Iraq, when I get home I am putting a Holley Stealth Rammed 383 with 475hp from the guys at Muscle Car Crate Engines.
Here the senario,
My dad has an 02' Z06, I have a 1991 Z28. Can I beat him with the 383?
Z06 - Stock 405hp
Z28 Mods;
T56, 3.42 Richmonds, Subframe connectors, strut tower brace, Eibach Pro Kit, KYB 3 ways up front, Bilstein in back, LCA Relocation Brackets, Edelbrock 1 5/8 headers with 3inch Flomaster 2chamber exhaust, 17inch SS rims, 275 40 17 nitto 555r on rear
I know Hod Rod Magazine a while back took a 1991 Rally Sport Camaro with an automatic and put a Ramjet 350 in it. They are rated at 350hp, they raced an 02' Z06. They pulled 2 car lengths on Vette with the RS until about 90, then the hp diff with weight and aerodynamics took over and the Vette blew by the RS.
Can I beat him?
Additional Question;
He also has a 1972 Nova SS with a Speed O Motive 383, 4spd, 3.73 Gears, Longtubes with dual 3inch Exhaust, stock but rebuilt suspension, think I can beat this combo?

The best way to find out is to race him. Does it matter if you win or lose?

Re: 383 Stealth Ram Z28 vs Z06
As I said, I am in Iraq right now. I am just trying to decide what engine to go with. I was going to do an LS1 swap, but that is what everyone is doing. Plus I already have a 6spd, but it wont bolt up to an LS1. And yes, it always matters if I win, I wont be to broken up as long as its a chevy beating me.

I have a Borg Warner T56 from a 1997 SS Lt1 Camaro. The LS1 engines require a differant input shaft and front plate. I have called around and it would cost 700-900 dollars to make my transmission work with an LS1.
