Wasn't sure where to post this, so I figured this is pretty general. Anyways, since I'm doing my engine swap, I'm thinking of running E85 vs. 110oct. Basically everything I've read makes it sound pretty nice. I've also talked to a few guys from the track who says it's def. worth it. Just wanted to see if anyone here has done it or has any experience with it.

There's a sticky in the carb forum, since carbs need to be tweaked the most. No such thing as an "E85 camshaft" or "E85 intake", etc...

yeah i knew that. I was basically asking if anyone has had any experience with it or had any pointers for things to look out for. I've done plenty of homework on it.

Converting a carb setup over to E85 is similar to changing over to Alky. The whole fuel system needs to flow about 30% more fuel - fuel lines, fuel pump, carb jetting, etc. Some parts need upgraded, some will be ok as-is, but the carb will have to be recalibrated.

Well for my fuel system I have my stock tank sumped, a Holley black fuel pump with stainless steel lines. For carb., I've been thinking of picking up this Holley 750DP on craigslist, then buying a conversion kit. My buddy thinks this will handle, but I have my doubts.

Far as I can tell, a setup like that should be ok, as long as it can handle about 30% or so more fuel use than what its doing now on gasoline.

Ethanol is not as hard on parts as Methanol is, so it doesn't have to be plumbed with all the same stuff as the rails and funnycars that use Meth, but its still alcohol, so it will be a bit harder on rubber/plastic parts than just gasoline, though not enough that I'd really worry about it.
