Car: 1984 z28 h.o.
Engine: 305
Transmission: 5 speed
help! my car has odd idling problems?
For over a week this has been occurring. I start my car and drive for about five minutes idle is normal 700. It revs to 1500 for about two minutes. The check engine light comes on for about 2 minutes(code 45: running rich). Then it goes off and the car idles normally 700.
My carb is recently rebuilt
My choke is disconnected
My motor is rebuilt with 1000 miles
Mods-headers, efficiency cam
No air or egr hooked up
Does anyone have any idea what may cause this? The only suggestion I have gotten is that the computer is running an alternative map while the engine is warming up because the choke is not functioning. Is this possible? What is wrong with my car?
