Engine sweating?? What to do? Noobie help!

I have pulled my 350 out of my 88 Camaro and am in the process of rebuilding it. I have a two car detached garage with no heat except a 110,000 BTU torpedo heater. (propane) I am having trouble with the engine sweating ( condensation) when I heat up the garage. I thought I might be getting it to hot so I bought a thermostat. Set it to 55, no difference. A friend of mine told me it was because it is propane and no outside vent for the heater? Has anyone had this happen to them? Would like to work in the garage but it has made my engine start rusting on the stand!

Thanks!

Oil it while it's cold, then wait for it to reach room temperature before you clean the oil off.
