What did u do to prep your 3rd gen. for spring?

First off would like to say hello! long time 82 regal owner, new 91 firebird owner. Just wondering what u guys are doing to prep your car for spring? I spent the last weekend replacing battery, cables, starter, plugs & wires, rotor, dist.cap..... New pads, rotor, inner and out wheel bearings..... Trust me I'm ussually not this motivated but just bought the car and she needed some mechanical love. Glad to say my 91 305tbi is runnin like a champ. so what are u doing to prep for a great summer to come?

Nothing yet! Still too cold. Once it warms up get the differential and heater core put in, along with new hood struts, wonderbar, door hinge repair kit, oxygen sensor, 160 thermostat, alignment, magnaflow, and many other things i want to do but don't have the $$

Re: What did u do to prep your 3rd gen. for spring?

Well, I drove mine in the winter so it has not been siting but it was nice this weekend. So I did a bit of "Spring prep" checked all fluids, checked brakes, painted some small things like wiper arms and the radio antenna that had been fading over the years but never got around to doing it before winter. Plus putting a nice coat of wax on it.
Next week I get to pop on my new emblems and then the next rebuild the nose of the car. Then it will be set for summer.
I got to do everything on the weekend cause I got work and classes during the week and the camaro is my DD.

Haven't done anything special since I drive it year round. Do need to take the antifreeze back out before the track opens up at the end of the month.

Re: What did u do to prep your 3rd gen. for spring?

Well, through the winter I finally got the 3" Flowmaster exhaust installed which should make the 400 I built last summer breathe better. Re-adjusted my rockers, changed the intake gaskets, and reconnected my heater hoses to the heater. Changed the oil and filter cleaned up underneath while I have it up in the air. Started it up last Saturday, sure sounded good to hear it run again and now I really have the fever!!

Re: What did u do to prep your 3rd gen. for spring?

just did the oil/filter change on mine, plus a CAI, new E3 plugs, MSD cap, rotor, wires and street fire ignition coil (starts way easier now). also putting new window motors in, wiring up the new sound system, and i ordered a new cam and steel roller rockers for it, plus getting the headers soon, then turning it into a side exit exhaust talk about fever. after all that i may get around to putting a better rear end/driveshaft in it, poly bushings all around, new struts/shocks, and then get onto the body & interior work. gonna be black/blue highlight interior with front racing seats and 5 point harnesses, new gauges, maybe a better shifter. then either gonna fix the front end or convert it to a camaro front end. then finally paint it with the black/blue pearl paint i got two years ago for my old camaro :S plans plans PLANS! i cant wait to see bare highway so i can just destroy these old tires, but we just got 1.5 more feet of snow, so its staying in the garage for now

Toledo, Ohio is ready to see what the bird can do this spring! My 82'Regal has the standard N/A 3.8 (non-turb, classic lines!) so the bird has bigger *****! I wonder how Michigan felt when a MAC team (Toledo Rockets) beat them @ THE BIG HOUSE! LOL!

with those braces, did you have any trouble of the distributor getting in the way?
i was looking under the hood of my car today, daydreaming, and it seemed like there wouldn't be enough room for it to go there

It is close to the distributor so I had to take my 5lb hammer and a block of wood to flatten it above the dizzy for clearance and it works perfectly and they really do tighten up the front end along with a wonder bar to tie the frame rails together on the front.

Gut the rearend and throw all bran new stuff in it and pray that it holds. Just still debating between a 3.90 and a 4.10 gear.

Man, I had the car running today, and to say it sounds good is an understatement for sure. I have my sticker on and I am calling the insurance agent so I can drive it Monday and Tuesday this week since it is getting nice here in Ohio. I am sooo ready for the cruising to begin..
