Ok, so there is this hose that i found detached. It is an intake of some sort because i can feel suction with my finger. So i found this piece nearby which it looks like it connects to but im not sure. Once detached, the car seems to run a little "meaner". If plugged in, the car has a slower idle. Not sure if this is supposed to be pluggin in or not. Also, what is this black cylinder shape thing? Whatever it is, the connecting piece to the intake hose comes from here.

The car runs "meaner" when detached because it is leaking vacuum. This is bad.
The black cylinder is the Emissions Canister (sometimes referred to as a charcoal canister).
A hose runs from the solenoid on the top to the side of the throttle body.

Is gas supposed to be transferred from the canister to the throttle body? Because i unplugged it and gas started flowing out of this "vacuum". When i say meaner i mean the car seems to idle a lot better. Please help
There shouldn't be any actual gas flowing to/from the canister. It is used for removing gas emissions and recirculates them into the throttle body.
If the car idles better with the vacuum line unplugged from the charcoal canister (assuming the line is plugged once it is removed), then your canister may be leaking vacuum. I've had this happen on my car. At this point, you can either replace your canister or eliminate/plug the vacuum hose.
So, if i unplug the vacuum hose, i need to plug it so there is no suction? the line has been left off sucking in fresh air-this is when the car seems to run better. But is that bad for the car? does the hose need to be plugged off?

Yes, otherwise this creates a vacuum leak.

The hose needs to be plugged off or you can remove the hose and plug it on the side of the throttle body. If your car likes more air, you might want to try switching to a free-flowing air filter (like K&N) or modifying your air-box for more flow.
Your disconnected hose goes to the top of the calcoal canister. Its right in your photo where the hose connects,,, its at the left side of the arrow head in your pic.
