Summit digital CD Ignition (PN SUM-850602) install help

I tried searching but didn't find enough detail ...

I am electrically challenged! I am unsure how to hook this thing up. I have an 88 5.7TPI with coil separate from the distributor. I asume the correct diagram in the manual is the one for "dual connection coil HEI system" but am not sure of some of the connections. It also looks like I will have to cut some wires. Was hoping for a full plug in deal. Anyone got any pictures that would help? Any tips on how to tell what the tach wire is? How about the pink wire from the ignition? I guess I am looking for install for Dummies ... please help!

The stock distributor ... no coil in the middle, separate one next to it ...
