How to hook up HEI Dizzy?

I bought an HEI dizzy to convert from points. Do i hook up the side that says BAT to 12V with a inline fuse or no? I tried hooking it up to what my points was but im getting NO spark. Im planning to hook it up to my 12V ignition but im not sure if it will blow fuses or not.

If anything will it drain my battery if i hook it up to the battery directly (running a wire from my battery straight to the dizzy)?

Re: How to hook up HEI Dizzy?

You want to hook it up to a good switched 12V source. Points use resistor wire, that won't work. You could use a relay. The resistor wire should close that OK and have it switch a fused 20A line from the battery to the HEI.
