My dad has an old 455 rocket that is settin in the garage that we were thinking bout selling. It is a complete motor minus the carb. The motor isnt locked up but will need rebuilt for it has sat several years. I was just wondering what these old motors bring. Any help appreciated.
Wow i would of thot theyd bring a lot more money than that. Well i guess it will just set in the garage. Might one day rebuild if my dad dont beat me 2 it. Thanks for the help guys.
They really aren't anything special, they're not competitive, dollar-for-dollar, with a big block Chevy, and unless you buy everything Mondello makes, they have no potential. The Chevy LQ4 makes half again the power and 90% of the torque, with only a cam swap, while being emissions clean and getting quadruple the gas mileage, for far less money than even a mild rebuild on a 455. Face reality, leave the old stuff where it belongs, in the past.
And why I posted said link, to the right people it could be a pile of gold.
As orginal and old is what they want. Even more to the guy trying to find his long lost orignal engine to make it a $100,000 numbers matching car.
