Replaced battery and now my car won't start!

Ok, a couple weeks ago I was getting ready to leave and my car wouldnt start. So we found out it was the battery, it was almost completely dead. So we replaced it, and it cranks normally but will not start. It has sat for 2 weeks and still will not start. Just today I went out and tried it, and it cranks perfectly fine, and like its trying to fire. I don't konw what it could be, it did this after we replaced the battery. Help is appreciated. thx

Have you checked the distributor module?

Re: Replaced battery and now my car won't start!

ok, last night we got the car started. we tested for spark and it had good spark. so i took off the air box, and maf sensor. we sprayed starting fluid into it, then covered the intake with my hand then it started. it seemed it would only try to start if my hand was over the intake. im going to replace the maf sensor and see what that does. Also when we got it started, i drove it around and it was hesitating real bad on acceleration but was fine once it was up to speed. it did this awhile ago, and the tps voltage was down. so we fixed that and now its doing that again. im wondering if the tps is just bad and changing the voltage dont matter. Much help needed.

sounds like you might have a bad fuel pump.....I would check the maf but also check the fuel pressure. very common problem with fuel pumps going bad in third gens, pressure should be 43.5psi.

btw, when i drove it, i could get up to the speed limit but very slowly cuz i could barely give it gas with out it starting to hesitate. if i WOT it it would just stall right there.im going to get a new maf sensor tmrw.

Re: Replaced battery and now my car won't start!

also, when i started the car, the maf was unhooked. once the car started, the ses light came on. so i hooked everything back up and drove it to a shop where they could hook it up to a computer. it read code 33 (maf sensor). but we had the car off when we got the codes. when i left, the ses light was off. does this mean its not the maf? maybe it just showed code 33 since it was unplugged when it started. im just trying to lay out all the possibilities.
