temp sensor

i need a temp switch for my electric fan setup, now is it a temp sensor or temp sender that i need to turn the fans on? and does anyone know a gm part number for one that comes on at 160 or 170 degress? Thanks alot

If you are not using the ECM to control the fans, you need a fan SWITCH. I'm using this one in my Camaro:

I don't know if you'll find one that comes on at 170*. I think the lowest any of them come on is 185*.
