Air filter positions/Cold air kits? TPI
This is the best place i could find to post this. i was wondering what most people do with air filter positioning on the TPI motors. Also, a question i would like to get answered is do i need to keep the mass airflow sensor on the car. i have seen them with and without, and cant decide what makes the ones with and without different. picture or a good description of your air filter would be cool, looking for some ideas, or better yet if there is a thread already about this, a link would be cool too. thanks

your car will run much richer and fuel mileage will goto crap without your mass airflow. I speak from experience. My MAF went out a few weeks ago and I had to wait until my next check to get another one. What used to cost me $30/wk to go back and forth to work turned into $50/wk. As for performance, the car felt very sluggish and would fall on it's face while on the highway.

If your car is equiped with a MAF, then you need to keep it. The cars you are seeing without the MAF are the engines which use Speed Density (SD). SD cars do not have a MAF, they rely on different sensors to calculate airflow. To get rid of your MAF, you'll need an ECM from a SD car.
