Thanks! Running great now!!
Thanks to all the folks who come on here and share their "How do I fix this" stories. I had been having the SES light come on for the past few months on my 88 IROZ Convertible/305 TPI/blueprinted engine, and one at a time I took care of each item. I have driven the IROC all over Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Idaho, Wyoming and this whole mountain area and it has always been a joy to drive. I had not driven it much lately due to SES light and poor gas mileage, by and large the car and its components are 23 years old and reading various posts gave me the drive to approach each area one at a time...
At this point I hope I am done for a while...The past couple of days I have cleaned out the throttle body and its components and replaced aged vacum lines along with barley working IAC and finished up with installing new MAF relays, now no codes/light and it is running like it did when I first rebuilt and re-installed the engine six years ago!
My next step will be to install 22lb injectors and a more free flowing exhaust during the summer. Again thanks to all you other third genners who enjoy their cars and offer their advice and solutions!!
