Forget where this bracket goes

Hi Guys!

Just installed my hedman headers in my 1990 formula (305 L03). Forget where this bracket goes. Anybody know and can take a pick of where it goes?

Thanks!

Re: Forget where this bracket goes

Thanks...if so...guess I don't need it since the smog pump is out. Still if someone can send me a pic where it is actually bolted that would be great!

Re: Forget where this bracket goes

Thanks! But just for piece of mind (you know when there is one bolt left and jsut cant seem to find where it goes) if someone still has no headers, a pic of its location would ease my miind that I'm not leaving off something way impaortant.

Thanks again for your reply!

Re: Forget where this bracket goes

That brace normally goes from the bolt on the back of the AC compressor near the bottom right in front of the exhaust manifold and down to an exhaust manifold bolt It may no longer fit with the headers, IDK? If you still can't figure it out, get me your email address and I'll get you a pic today or tomorrow
Bent end to the AC side

Re: Forget where this bracket goes

It will still fit - what you need is a steel spacer from Home Depot in the hardware section, and a longer header bolt (or one of the original bolts). Put the bolt through the bracket, through the spacer, through the header, and into the head.

Re: Forget where this bracket goes

Sorry - don't have one - no A/C here anymore. But it's just as simple as I stated. Lowes/Home depot have the perfect size metal spacer (about 1 1/2 inches) in the hardware section, hard to miss, they only carry a few sizes - just take a header bolt with you to get the right inside diameter. Then buy a longer bolt same size/thread as the header bolt that's long enough to go through brace, spacer, header flange, and into the head.

Check pics 2 and 3 in post #16 of the following link for pics of the brace in question (manifold, with header spacer, to rear of compressor):
