'92 Z28 Heater Core Removal - Major P.I.T.A.
I'm at the part where the original heater core seems to be fighting against me so tell me what I should do next? Can't wiggle the stubborn POS out!
I had all weekend to perform this job and I ran into a snag. Maybe one of you guys had experienced the same thing as I am. This on a 1992 Z28.
I don't want to remove the entire front dash as I am suspecting and maybe I am making it harder than it is but enough of my rant, here goes.
Autozone sold me this Made In China heater core, until I rip the original out to compare, this will have to do. Hope I don't run into problems later.
I dropped the kick panel, heater core cover, ECM and this funky cover I never dealt with before in my life since working on F-Bodies since 1987. I do have a dozen screws to mess with afterwards...
Had to cut off the original hoses, it was a shame but I need the Z28 asap. That factory molded hose on the right is cut as well. Looking for another.
And here we are, it seems to be stuck in its enclosed tomb so to say and I tried all angles. Something I am missing? I might have to sawzall it off...

Well I got the heater core out after yanking on it. The Chinese aftermarket part seems to match up so I'll be reporting my progress later. Thanks to those who viewed only.

I was gonna say that it should pop right out at that point. I just installed a new HC in mine last weekend and it went pretty smoothly. Hope yours works out.
