acceleration problem
I got an 85 iroc with 305 tpi and a 5 speed and starting this morning when was driving it i noticed it wasn't accelerating like it should and when i would just be cruising it was fine but if i just nudged the gas pedal a lil bit it would bog down and kind of stutter. and just before i got it home when i would go from take off i could just feel it missing bad if i took off normal but if i floored it from take it off it accelerated just fine but soon as i leveled off it went back to missing real bad. Is this a sign of my timing going bad? Im a rookie at this stuff so i dont know whats what alls I know is when drove it home last night it didnt miss a beat but from this morning on it got steadily worse. thanks all opinions. On a side note I bought a 350 tpi that im having swapped in in a couple weeks so Im hoping it aint nothing to serious cuz i dont wanna waste money on an engine im gonna be junking. thanks.

Re: acceleration problem
Greenie mine is doing something similar. However, it only does it after it's been running for a while & if I were to turn it off/on then it goes back to normal. I put fuel injector cleaner in it this am. However, I feel my ESC may be going bad.
Very interested in seeing what the others post!!!!

Re: acceleration problem
i also put some injector cleaner in it yesterday when i filled up the tank but so far no matter if i shut it off and then back on it still does it. it just kinda pisses me off that when i get ready to do a big project on it something retarded goes wrong and then i have to fix that and start saving again to do what i want lol

Re: acceleration problem
well I took it to the shop and after a couple hours they found that the spark plugs that were installed in it were to big and meant for a 350 so over time they had been getting ground down by the pistons until last weekend when 3 of them finally conked out! so after getting the correct plugs in there its better and feels faster. The PO must have been convinced that he had a 350 or something in there.
