winaldl is a free and easy program.
Usb cables are available online. Just search for aldl to Usb. Will net millions of results in google. Even how to make one yourself for very little money.
That's how I found my info and made my own cable for my laptop.

You can get some real time data but the data provided by OBD-I is very minimal compared to OBD-II. If you just need to read codes, the OBD-I is simple with a paper clip and counting the flash codes then looking them up online if you don't have a code book. OBD-II requires a scanner to read and clear the codes.

Datamaster or Tuner Pro will display all engine operating parameters in real time or record for later playback

Just a shot in the dark but....is there a list of information the OBD1 gives you for a 91 Z28?

I bought a cable and software I have not used yet (the car is in a different country) for adjusting the TPS but if it gave fuel pressure also that would be super sweet.

Thanks
