coil problem?
no start this morning - cranks, but no start. This afternoon i put a spark plug light between the coil and dist. at first, cranking produced no light. but after about 10 seconds, the light started showing up and car immediately started.
Help! what does this indicate - bad ICM, coil, wires somewhere, ????

Re: coil problem?
You might want to see with a noid light if you have injector pulse. Or even a tach signal . If you do chances are your icm is good and the issue is in the jumper going from the icm to the coil , high resistance in the coil wire, cap terminal or carbon button.

Re: coil problem?
for the record, the "new" delco coil had low resitance in the secondary. got it from rockauto, so maybe it was on the shelf a long time but there really is no excuse for that. i put back the accel coil that was there before i "went back to stock" and havent had any problems for several days.
'if it aint broke ... ' o well.
