Exactly where do you buy tires for that car? Wrinkle wall slicks aren't legal to drive on the street. Anything less is a waste of time. Just an exercise in funding custom speed shops. He'll be so mad when he gets beat by a Nissan truck because his 1300HP tore the tires down to the aluminum rims.

totally unstreetable tell that to the owner that uses it as a daily driver when it dosent rain of course and whats the deal with him needing wrinkle walls depending on where the motor makes power he wont have to worry to much remember that car dosent make 1,300 horse at 3,000 rpm's turbo motors breath on the top end depending on your combo.

An old friend of mine, Bob Cosby, a rustang guy had twin INCON turbos on his 5.0 LX. He drove it to work every day. He got them for free to test and in turn he had to write an article for Fast Furds and Mudstains.
Amazing how everyone can dis a really cool motor like that. I love those valve covers. Wish I didn't have the centerbolt types.
If ya got the money, spend it!

Thanks for the vote of confidence guys
I can understand your skepticism, but you have to keep in mind that turbo's are load driven, not necessarily rpm driven. When you're just cruising around in traffic, the turbo's aren't producing much if any boost. Since the CR is being lowered from 11.27 to 8.5, and the 256/264, .690"/.650" cam is being swapped for soemthing around 230 or do, the engine will actually be milder than the 650hp NA SBC 427. The turbo's will spool up when under load and should start makinh full boost at around 3000-3500 rpm's, at which point you better hold on.
BTW, I talked to the guys at Rad Rides by Troy, as well as the guys at PTE about John Meaney's setup and they also mentioned how much he drives the car on the street, with Michelin Pilot street tires. Troy's dad was telling me how John has driven the car down from Detroit several times to the Rad Rides shop, a good 3 hour interstate drive, swapped tires and has run as fast as 10.4 @ 163mph! at Rt. 66.
I'm using the same turbochargers, except with updated .85 AR exhaust housings, and wastegates. Both engines are Rocket block based, his 400 vs my 427 though, and use 18* heads, and FAST SEFI.
If you guys are ever in the Chicago area, email me and I'll take you for a ride when it's done, and you can make up your own mind from first hand experience.

We started with a Spearco/Turbonetics core, and fabricated/tig welded the end tanks and inlets/outlets out of 6061 aluminum tube and plate.
