A/C fitting sizes
I'm thinking of buying a cheap manifold gauge set. The only ones I can find for a reasonable price are set up with R134a fittings. Since my car still has R12, the R134a gauges won't hook up. Anybody know what size/type adapters can be used to do this and where I might be able to get them?

Go to a real air conditioning place, like an appliance repair parts supply place or refrigeration supply or something. Nobody in the automotive world is going to have that any more. The car R-12 Schrader valves are the same as the ones on stationary A/C units, except that you'll still need a high-pressure side adapter.

Or should I just get an R12 gauge set?

They also sell adapter hoses to use R12 gauges with R134a. That way I could always get them later on if need be.
