me vs. 3000gt and celica gt

i have a 91 camaro rs w/ 305 tbi. the only mods done are 14x3 open element and b&m shift kit. the 3000gt is an early 90s base model auto and the other is a 1994 celica gt 5spd bone stock. i would like to know how i would fair against these two. the 3000gt is a friendly race but the celica gt kid is a total idiot, he asked my friend with a 98 z28 6spd if he would like to go, but the z28 kid didnt want to go where they were so the celica kid said the z28 wouldnt even be able to hang cause his car has 'precision tuning' (which according to him is new wires and plugs). i looked at the stats for the celica and its 110 hp and the 3000gt is 163, im not sure on tq for either of these cars. i would like for somebody to shut the celica kid up, and hopefully i can do that. tell me what you guys think. (p.s. my car is in good tune and nothing is wrong mechanically and feels very strong throughout the gears)

My friend has a '85 CRX Si, and theres a kid at my school with a earlier 90ish Celica GT-S (i think) All i know is that it is stock and its a stick. Granted the kid with the celica can't drive but my buddies CRX, didn't walk him but its pulled on him decent....so you should be ok against that, but the 3000GT i'm not sure about...just STAY AWAY from the VR-4s :hail: VR4 AWD/AWS/TT

i screwed up, i was thinking the car was a 3000gt, but its a stealth base model auto. arent those cars extremely heavy, like around 3800 lbs? id think itd be kinda close but i should win due to weight and tq advantage. thanks for the replies

The Stealth and the 3000GT are the same car, the Stealth is just uglier. They can be pretty quick though but I'm not sure of the weight.

That ain't no **** there buddy. I got beat by one the other day, at 115 MPH I finally got nervous and shut it down. Not that if I hadn't, I would have won, I couldn't gain any ground on him.

You should be able to take the Celica. It has 130 hp and 145 torque. Even granted a 5 spd, I do not think that it could make up that much ground.

Now the 3000GT base model is a joke. I have seen a VR4 run a mid 15 because the driver sucked ***. When I saw him drive up to the line, I whispered to my freind," That car is sweet. Now we get to see an import that smokes rice easliy." But the driver really sucked. Given a good driver, and good track conditions, a 3000GT is a force to contend with. I would not really worry about even modded ones, becuase they do have to deal with the fact that they are 4000 lbs almost.

Worse comes to worse, race the Celica up the hill . My freind beat a new Civic 5 spd up a hill in a 99 Concorde with em and 3 other ppl in it.

so when are you going to beat them
the only way to find out for sure is too race them and find out that way..

a celica gts is a pretty peppy car but the gt is only in the high 15s at best, most likely 16's

and the stealth base model, seems like it would be about in the same time frame..

i dont know when im gonna race the celica gt, i really want to though. i looked up the hp for the celica gt, its not a gts or anything special. it said it came with 110 hp in 1994, which is the exact car. im not too worried about him, my friends 97 saturn 5spd was rated at 110 and that thing was fun to play around in, but its not even close to staying with my car. thanks for all the replies.
