Think I could hang?

A guy in my neighborhood has a new supercharged rousch mustang. I read online that they are rated at 360hp! Idon't know if its auto or manual. It also said that the manual will do 12.9 at like 109 mph! I figure minus the pro driver it will run slower. low or maybe mid 13's??? My car should be somewhere in there, I'd hope. I know I'm the underdog here but a LT1 in a third gen is a contender. I just got my car back from my mechanic's house and it's flying! What do you guys think?

Is it a stage 3? Only the stage 3 cars got the super charger and they run on par with 03+ cobras. You will need more power. From a dig I can see the two cars being even but he will most likely walk you hard up top. If it is a stage 1 or 2 car fear not and victory will be yours.

stage 3?

I have no contact with him, but our famlies know each other. My old man ran into his and he claimed he put the rousch kit on the car and that makes it over 400hp! I found info about the kits online and the stage three seems to be the only one consistent with these claims (rated at 360hp). Maybe he was exagerrating a little bit. I know they are said to be on even grounds with the latest cobra's but those numbers are with pro drivers. I doubt your average lunchbox Larry could pull off those times. anywho, I know I'm in deep water on this one but I'll be lookin' for him.

Ive seen two stage threes run at our local track and neither one broke into the twelves. One hit a 13.03 or something like that with drag radials. They were pretty much neck and neck with all of the stock Ls1 cars that were their that night running in the low 13's. I think you have a pretty good setup. I think you will loose but you can probably knock down mid 13's so you wont get destroyed. Good Luck.

I hope I get a shot at him. I don't have much luck getting races on the street. It seems every capable car is always going the other way, with not enough time to turn around or get loose from traffic. At the same time, I'm not going to chase people down, if the opportunity presents itself, I'm game. I just want a few tests, Like a newer mustang(260hp version), 4th gen LT1, stock Ls1 maybe a C5 vette(I'd love to beat a vette, but I'm probably dreaming). This way I know where I stand and what I can run with. I KILLED a friends 80's 5.0 last year really bad. He said that judging by what happened he thinks my car would run about a 13.6. At that time my car was a dog compared to now. I opened up the air intake more, added pulleys, LCA'c and shift kit since then and its really responded well. Who knows, I just want some action!
