one time I was having problems with the clutch same thing people didn't want to touch it cause it was a rotary motor. now tell me what the hell does a clutch have to do with the car being a rotary? I was refused a muffler from a shop cause it was a rotary. they don't know anything about rotaries don't want to work on them.

you guys suck

but yeah I Say every car has it's own quirks.
Them cars are actually not that bad to work on at all. Biggest pain in the *** with them cars (and yes it is a big pain in the ***) are all the vaccume lines. There are billions of them!!!

Uh, I'm big into mustangs. But I'm sorry buddy, if that car had a 383 in it.. you wouldn't have even kept up with him. Same with the LT1, they aren't slow cars. You probably wouldn't even hang with one with just 3.73's and full exhaust. Oh and one more thing, that post sounded more like an article out of a porno magazine, ever considered getting a job writing for one? that was pretty damn good.. I got wood just reading that, made me wonder what kind of bull**** the next paragraph was going to have in it. Anyhow, nice runs! go out and kill some ZO6's for us, and some 03-04 cobras while you are at it! you give people that drive mustangs a bad name.

agai nthese cars are stripped interior, big block open headers, steep gears, slicks full out track car. to run a 13 seems sad. even more so for those that still have to break out of the 14's
There are rock stock mustangs with single turbo setups running into the 10's, they would break into the 9's if the stock block wouldn't split.

Any other mods allowed in that "record holder" if not, there are cars out there with stock intakes, stock cam, and stock heads running 10's with a turbo setup. $4k for a turbo kit is worth every penny, and I cannot stress that anymore.

Well considering my 1/8th times were with a slipping cluch, blown shocks and fresh 3.73's, theres no telling what it would have run had I taken it to the track....most likely high 8's (1/8th)

And Ive beaten a couple LS1's at the local track, witnesses to prove it. They cant launch worth **** and Id get a BIG holeshot, talking 6 car lengths...granted they'd reel me in fast and were on my tail when we crossed the line but I still beat them nonetheless.

You need to consider the fact that over 75% of a race is in the driver. You dont know how many times Ive seen Z06 Vettes (6 speeds) run high 13's in the 1/4 or something in the 13's period. I actually watched a bone stock 10th annivesary Cobra run a 9.18 as his BEST at the local 1/8th track. So dont get all smartass with me pal, because I know my **** and I cant help it you are some pompous jackass who is so full of himself he cant actually see past his ego to notcie that no matter what a car can do with a good driver, it DOESNT HAPPEN EVERYTIME!!! It takes a good/great driver to pilot a car to its maximum potential, especially a 03/04 Cobra with that ****ty IRS suspension.

Sniff sniff, that was touching. It's just the internet. There are better things to get worked up over.

Those cars have all the bolt ons, and all the suspension, but there have been high 11s for stock untouched heads/intake and stock cammed cars. I know Justin Burcham did it, and Bob Cosby ran mid 12s on a stock motor driven to and from the track, 100% daily driven car! I know a lot of guys doing it as well...

Friend of mine just went 12.60 @ 108 on a stock motor with an Explorer intake, bolt ons (MAF, TB, pulleys) and 4.10s! But this isnt Mustang preaching hour...

Also the cars running 10s with turboes also have fuel systems, supporting bolt ons, probably drivetrain mods, and tires. Its not just $4000 and your running 10s!

Actually yes it is. They have no suspension mods done whatsoever. Of course they're running DR's, and a $4k turbo kit usually includes the fuel pump and most likely the injectors and MAF calibrated for the injectors. Go to turbomustangs.com, many people are packing 450-500 to the wheels with stock motors, from the TB to the oilpan. Also, as you said earlier.. it's mainly about how good of a driver you are. If you can powershift like a ****, then yeah.. you can pull on some cars completely out of your league. But when you get in 3rd - 4th gear with 3.73's-4.10's you'll be running out of gear and the cars such as an LS1 or LT1 will be right behind you if not passing you. Don't get me wrong though, I'm a mustang guy.. I dislike GM's. With my old bone stock 86 GT with a 5spd, looking back at when I had it compared to my 91 GT automatic car.. I'm almost certain I could have waxed quite a few cars that I couldn't imagine beating. Mainly because I shift pretty good(not saying, omg I'm the leetest shifter in the world or anything) but I can slam some gears. Anyhow, I'm gonna get off here.. gotta goto work in a few. Later.

Want to send me a link to the cars that are bone stock short of a turbo kit, gears and DRs? Im not saying it cant happen, things that "cant" happen and do interest me! If you want PM me the link...

As far as taking cars and beating others by driving, I do know all about the driving aspect. I have personally driven 4 cars to their best track passes in less than great conditions (I have yet to have someone drive even their own car better than me ), so what your telling me is something everyone knows! Banging gears is easy with the right technique and practice and can take a quick car and make it a fast car!

Im a fan of doing a lot with a little, and the only way to do that is wring every ounce out of a combo. I personally see this with a lot of Mustang guys I know, and it makes me have to defend them, knowing what they can do!

Im not saying Im the best driver ever. But back when my car was Bone Stock with 228k miles, ****ty 235/40 series Bridestone Eagers that were bald and dry rotted and I had a ghetto'd up stock exhaust that leaked everywhere and I still ran consistant 9.3's on a bone stock car. May not be impressive to you but it was to me from such a tired car. The previous owners best was 9.58 with tons of 9.7's and I let a few people drive it and the best they were getting was 9.45 or worse. When the lcutch started oging I could still pull 9.4's. Ive never said my **** was fast and the clutch was going out when I got the gears and DR's put on but once I installed my new clutch and full exhaust, not only did it osund much better, it pulled ALOT harder than it had with the slipping clutch. Thats why Im sure it could have ran some high 8's with time....but now Ill never know since Ive got a totally new combo in the car and I was really wanting to see how far I could go with a stock block/cam/heads with the supporting suspension and full bolt on's but oh well, I just want it running again.

In any case, like I said, the driver makes the differance. MY friend James went to the track Wednesday and has a video of a LS1 Camaro running a 9.2 in the 1/8.

My buddy only runs 9.3's-9.0's in his 96 Cobra and its because of 2 things....he isnt a good driver and his tires suck. When we lined up before and I was on street tires bone stock, I could pull out of the hole automatically and when we crossed the traps we were side by side or him edging out.....in the 1/4 he would have walked past me easily. Ive told him when he wants a mid 13 pass out of that thing come to me or James and we'd get him one but I think once he gets DR's mid 13's wont be hard for him at all with an exhaust-only Cobra.
