oh hey I've seen some of them.
they weren't big blocks though.
think they only had whimpy 6 cylinders or rotaries.

just don't understand why all of them didn't take the trailer and instead drove their car over to the track.
oh well to each their own

sorry let me rephrase
not here as in TGO
but here as in hell,idaho

and the guy maverick and pinto owners.

some people do some weird thing sto their cars
but hey he is RWD at least right and since it's a domestic it prolly puts down mad torque... well unless you talk to klumb15 then it's a FWD import with no torque
I donno who to believe here I'm soo confused

rx7speed, i dont' understand why your on this forum? you have an import, and IMO you don't have any affiliation with thirdgens...and no i'm not saying "camaro;s" are the fastest cars out there...you can make anything fast....i just knwo there are way too many people out there that wreck the name for "tuner" cars, and there aren't nearly as many doing stupid sh*t to camaro's....I dont care what you drive, if you like it, thats cool...i like driving something that has lots of power, lots of torque, and lets me have a good time in it, so I bought a camaro...if you like having a fast FWD turbo car, thats cool too...

and also some of you guys make a huge deal a bout some "tuner" car running like 11 second quarter miles....yea thats fast as hell, but they are far from daily drivers...and its pretty rare to find a 11 second "tuner" car on the street....you knwo why, cuz the majority of them are not STREETABLE....basically trailor queens...look around, look how many camaro's are running 11, or 12 second quarters, and people drive them to work...my buddy has a cam in his LS1, dynoed 391 to the wheels, added 150 shot of nitrous, you looking at over 500 horse, and he gets 27 miles to the gallon with it on the highway....and it drives like its brand new off the show room floor....

so stop making "tuners" sound all fast by comparing them all to ONE car you've seen that goes 8 seconds in the quarter mile

And don't compare ALL camaro's to the ONE camaro you've seen that has a big sh*t can out back, and big crappy rims or something...

DAMN IT

I hit the back button by accident so I will give my full reply later

but to sum it up before I go leave to visit my sis before moves to mississippi
imports aren't always **** anymore
and domestics arn't always clean

anymore it seems to me that the lines aren't what they once where. see many domestics r<x>iced out and manyh imports moving fast. not saying there isn't quite a few so called tuner cars but again the lines aren't what they used to be and are blurring

so stop making "tuners" sound all fast by comparing them all to ONE car you've seen that goes 8 seconds in the quarter mile

And don't compare ALL camaro's to the ONE camaro you've seen that has a big sh*t can out back, and big crappy rims or something...
I like that
mind if I put that in my profile?

Actually, I've never once seen an 11 second import that wasn't fully street driven. Do I have to dig out the John Shephard Talon video for the tenth freaking time? If your car isn't streetable and only runs an 11 you are probably a goddamn clown. I remember watching a guy run a 10.6 at my altitude in his Civic that he drove to work everyday; but he was probably the only one in the whole entire world.

That's fine. I think the fastest any car has made without being a funny car or a top fuel dragster is 6's anyway isn't it?

Actually, I've never once seen an 11 second import that wasn't fully street driven.

I totally agree with that statment. I seen countless eclipses that can do it and STI's, etc... Also there's a guy down here who once held the world record for the fastest FWD (ALL MOTOR) car. He custom builds neon engines and my friend that I work with had his done. It was putting down over 250 at the wheels in a 2600lbs neon. It ran 8 flat in a 1/8th. I've seen this guy make other neons run 7's all day at the track and all the cars were driven there.

I'm a chevy guy born an true but at the same time you give respect where respect is due! An the tech thats put into imports today deserve respect if you can't see that than thats just plain ignorance!

Back to the subject I use to own a RS eclipse it was rated at 145hp I raced a vtec SI honda(165HP) it beat me by a car. I raced my stock 87 TPI 305 iroc with my friend driving it. It pulled my eclipse heart out! The new eclipse 4 banger is rated at 162hp I'll say the 305 carb will win.

what about a supra? rwd, import, straight six, 800rwhp with all the goodies. u gotta give respect where respect is due. wish they never stopped making those. of course with the revival of the rwd muscle cars these days maybe toyota will come back with something to compete. and itll probably be a helluva lot more reliable than anything else

Maybe you should think about the fact I ate some dude in an '90ish RS with my 3.0 5 spd Topaz. I usually don't like to give it to my fellow 3rd gens but this guy was asking for it. Twenty feet of scretching, squaking into 2nd and he was done. Sh*t kickin' **** I'll drive that think till it blows! I'll go through the gears like your mom washes your underwear everyday! Sometimes I even wonder how the hell I do it with the POS I got to work with. Then I wonder why I even have the 5.7 parked on the driveway.

Then some of you guys wanna cry over 5.0's. Maybe you should learn how to actually drive.
