How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

Ok I'll admitted guys my last car was an 92 Acura legend coupe. Really nice car, i enjoyed the power and luxury. NO it didnt sound like a lawnmower or have a million stickers on it!Sometimes i would get the youngsters in their civics trying to race me...haaa i burned them everytime! So just wondering how many of u own or owned an import? If there is a thread like this i apologize.

Update: FORGET THE RICE PART! I meant to say just import cars mainly Japanese. No offense to anyone!

Re: How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

Dammit I was hoping no one would do something like this... I guess I have to give myself up... All my life my dad and uncle has had all mopars and nova's with huge wings and evo2 exhaust systems on them. they got full body kits and stickers all over. Even had the muffler falling off it. For christmas I got some swweet 5" tailpipes. Oo couldn't forget the green Christmas lightbulb for underglow effects. Also moulded some plastic we found on the side of the highway to make a sickkk hood and roof scoop. Dad says he could even make them functional one day. Also I forgot I order some Nos stickers to put on my back windshield.

Re: How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

I had a 91 (or so) Isuzu Impulse with the Lotus designed suspension, but all it had was lowering springs, upgraded struts (don't remember what brand) and custom wheels.

And the only reason it got that stuff, was behind I SLID sideways into a curb through a corner. When you need to replace half that stuff, might as well replace all 4 corners with better stugff, huh?

Had an 86 300zx that I litterally flogged the crap out of and it never gave up. No fart can muffler, wing or 12" tach though so guess it doesn't technically count as rice.

Re: How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

Not really a ***** But I had a Dodge Stealth RT/TT built by Mitsubishi(3000GT VR4 is the same car) Was my Daily driver That was modified enough to pull consistent low 12 at the Strip. Was running larger turbos, 550CC injectors and an ARCII for fuel control, larger intercoolers and an RPS aluminum flywheel. Car was lowered with Coilovers and some GAB adjustable shocks but the rest was all stock. It turned into a snowplow at anything over 6 inches of snow but AWD got me through allmost everything. For the most part the tranaxles have an undeserved bad reputation but overall they are a very stout unit as I had many 6000 RPM launches on sticky Hoosier autocross tires without breaking it. The syncros are a little fragile because all it would take is one missed shift to take one out. The Clutch and second gear syncro where a yearly replacement item on my car but I drove the **** out of it. I had the clutch and syncro change down to less then 8 hours on my last try, doing it alone. It Dynoed at 350 AWHP at 15 PSI on a day that the car was running like crap, I would say on a good day it was closer to 380 AWHP and when I turned the boost up to 18-19 PSI the car really woke up. That really was a great car but not sure if I would own another one, only because there are other cars I would rather have not because I felt it was poor quality, In fact other then the clutch and syncro problems(caused by me) the car was completly trouble free for the 4 years I owned it. Did I say I drove the **** out of it? I allmost forgot,26MPG averaging 90 MPH for a 900 mile road trip. Spent a lot of time over 100 MPH on that trip, really wanted to get home.

Re: How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

i used to own an 87 acura integra. dohc 1.8 liter motor. 2 doors hatchback, it was a cool little car, never let me stranded, and taught me my first lesson in interference engines. haha

anyways i managed to put a coffee can muffler on it, lowered the front acouple inches, got a front lip for it.

oh by the way, i also used to be on this forum http://g1teg.org/

good times, i was 16 at the time by the way

Re: How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

I've owned 2 honda's in the past. First was an '89 Civic hatch with a '00 B16 and matchin tranny, stage 1 clutch and lightened flywheel. Learned how to drive a standard with that car.The 2nd was a 95 Integra with just the basics (2'' drop all around,CF hood, intake and exhaust from the header back) Never put any decals on them and the exhaust never ended with something that looked bigger then a coffee can. Miss them, but love my Camaro much more.

LOL. Thats what mine looked like after not too long. Only problem was I WAS NOT THE LAST ONE RIDING IT. It went into a tank slapper with my friend riding it to church. Never happend to me ever on that bike. I still think they should install steering dampers right from the factory.

Re: How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

Imports list as follows.
1. 1999 Mitubishi Mirage transverse mount 4G63T 2.0T swapped FWD. Basically a tire killer. And for its last ride it almost killed me and a telephone pole. Tie rod let go and took me off roading.
2. 1992 Nissan 240sx SR20DET 2.0T RWD Super HICAS. LSD Limited slip, Rota Subzero wheels, Nitto 555's, ported 70mm NISMO throttle body, spearco front mount, T3/T4 clipped and ported turbo swap, Apex'i SAFC, dyno tune, stripped interior, awesome car. First rear wheel drive. Sold it. Pisses me off still.
3. 1984 300zx Turbo stock. Wiring harness fire, love RWD, bought my Camaro a week later.
(Side note, if you know anyone who has a 5spd 1991-1992 240sx Super Hicas, I'll buy it if they're selling.)

Re: How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

My first car was a 4cyl. 1995 honda Accord 4 door. I thought it was the fastest thing in the whole world. I was proved wrong when i tried to pull out in front of an F-150. If i'd kept that car, I would have either a-become a ***** or b-kept it for a dd when i bought that sick 400hp camaro that was for sale down the street...

Next car was an Eclipse, I hated it, got rid of it as fast as i could for my IROC.

The IROC is my favorite car yet. It's sexy even though its beat up, sounds mean as hell, gets OK gas mileage when i stay off of it, and has been ALMOST as reliable to me as the Accord, even though it's in the shop now for some electrical problems

I also owned an 86 Z31. I had MSA headers, to full 3" cat-back. Intake, orange silicone tubing, and gutted interior.

I didn't consider it ***** as I did actual mods (They helped the car). But I did NOT care for the No TQ V6. I already had my camaro at this time and decided I needed to get back to her, so i sold the 300 for 1/4 of what i put into it, just to get back to my V8 American Muscle....which if I hadn't I may have lost the camaro forever....ahhh yeah right.

P.S. I was an import owner for 1yr, and will never go back. Something about American muscle that calms me down.

Re: How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

I seriously doubt that were going to find anyone on here who owned rice. Ive found out the people who rice out their cars are teenagers and douschebags. You can do an import right and not have rice, and still drive a camaro. A car is a car and going fast is going fast. But cars with sideways fart cans and huge spoilers need to be crushed.

I love 240sx's, RX-7's, STi's and Supra's but no matter what i have ill always have a camaro in the driveway. I believe imports were created to allow me to modify my DD so i can get 20+mpg and still have fun cause DD'ing my camaro is hurting my wallet driving 20 miles to work a day lol

Thats because the bike was sliding at about 80 mph and spinning when it hit the guard rail. It didn't fall off, it got ripped off.

Re: How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

The coolest rice I ever owned was a 94 eclipse. Only got to drive it 50 miles. When I got the car, it had a burnt valve. Took the head off, fixed it up. Got it going. It had a full muggen exhaust, cold air, slotted rotors ect.

When I got the car going it was a very sweet set up, till 50 miles into the drive where the rod went. That was the second eclipse I had that year, & they both had top end trouble, that was fixed then the lower ends went out. The only rice i want now ever, is a Honda.

I have 6 cars now, & the 87 accord I have was bought for $1,250. It had 120k. It now has 156k with no troubles. I also have a 78 naked Honda goldwing. I love Honda, but for daily drivers only, that you dont have to work on all the time.

My Camaro has been parked most of the 4 years ive had it. I hate working on somethng constantly. Gets old, but ill never sell it, & it will never be done. Its differant when you care about a car. Unlike the Honda; everything has to be perfect on the Camaro, or why pay for all that gas to drive it.

I had a 1997 eclipse with all bolt on's, lowered with ground effects
also a 2003 yamaha R1, with 2000 miles on then a hit and run on the freeway at 75 mph with my wife on the back..... totaled the bike and me......
Now its on to the third gen, wish i had this car before all the other hobbies

never was a r.i.c.e.r but my first car was my 86 ta and my second was a 96 civic dx non vtec no power options auto car (turd) i took the muffler off and the silencer box for the intake lol. i hated that car non vtecs dont get the greatest mileagle no power i got beat by a riced out hyundi accent!!! anyway i blew it up after having it 5months. i wish i would have kept it though and done a vtec head swap and 5spd swap and made it a dd. then my next car was my 98 camaro v6 y87 package i miss it a lot i sold it for a 04 dodge dakota 4x4 with the 4.7 v8 it was a fun truck but had alot of problems orignial motor blew up at 40k got it back from dealer after new shortblock went in and the rearend locked up in a week never get better than 15mpg in it. i sold it off for my 03 yukon xl. ill never go away from gm again!! i got my 82 while i had my 98 camaro

Re: How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

lol, i've got a 92 jetta TDI. not so much rice, but is an import and looks like it with the wheels... when i bought the car it had 4 mismatched wheels, one was the wrong size, and the tires were all bald, i happened to find some aluminum rims from something sporty with good rubber for $250 so went for it. also the exhaust was really loud until i fixed it. thing launches like a turtle but amazing gas mileage, and it's funny watching the rice kids race like they think my car matches up to theirs.

Re: How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

I have a 94 accord 5 spd vtec that is soooo fast. It could whooop up on any third gen on here. Just kidding. Its stock on the outside but for some reason previous owner thought white guages and strut tower braces would make it fast. I just use them to see how fast I can take the corners with my groceries in the trunk. lol

Re: How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

Well...

(Just the "fast" cars)

1988 Trans Am (L98 TPI)
1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST
2003 Honda S2000
2002 Trans Am WS6

Fast is fast. There's just different kinds. None of the cars looked "rice." Appeared stock, and appearances are deceiving.

I've never had one, first car was/is a 74 Nova. But I would really like a Datsun/Nissan z-car, 300zx is my favorite.

Re: How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

I've never owned an "import" car. I had a 1986 Toyota 4x4 (biggest piece of crap I've ever owned), and traded it straight up for a black 1989 RS Camaro 305 TBI auto (best car I've ever owned...R.I.P. the guy I sold it to totaled it). I currently have a '91 Nissan harbody I use for my 80 mile work commute, but am looking to sell it soon. Other than that it's been a host of V8 rwd cars.

My wife drives an '02 Mazda Protege (35mpg) for her 160 mile work commute, but her weekend/home driver is a torch red '94 Formula.

Current DD is an '04 Lancer Ralliart. Its a nice little car and I absolutely love it as a DD. But I'm also not dumb enough to race it or think I can. Come to think of it, the only racing its ever been in was against my own Firebird (sadly the 'bird lost).

Define "foreign car". LOTS of cars these days, including the 5th gen Camaro, are built outside of the USA.

What do you drive, other than your 3rd gen? Anything?

Any car not built by the UAW. Yeah its built in canada because GM doesnt have to pay them healthcare if we could get a health care system worked out it would help the companies. Right now I have an 85 monte ss, and a 87 chevy plow truck.

Re: How many current or ex-ricers on here? dont lie!

i owned 3 Toyota MK3 supras at one point in life.

2 non turbo 7mge 5 spd cars and 1 turbo 7mgte 5spd later converted to a 2.5l 1jzgte

i grew up a gm only kid then bought a supra due to lack of funds. my god how i loved smoking retards in domestic camaros/mustangs that thought they were fast.

i knew what fast was but when i started playing with boost...you never go back. best I ever ran was only mid 12's with my turbo car but around here its hard to find a street car that ran faster than 13's

i have came back to the domestic side knowing what imports are like and understand.
