Re: Douchebag civic driver

It was such a nice night here that I took a little 6 mile round-trip drive in my Z. I was coming back home and I got at the light. I was next to this 2000 Honda Accord with a kid in it. I recalled seeing him earlier while driving as I passed him. Somehow he was up front probably because my laser detector was going off at some point.

He looks at me with a motion that he wants to do a quick race (at the light) and revs his engine a little bit. I just ignored him & kept listening to my music. When the light turned green this guy takes off real fast & all I did was hammer my gas pedal and passed him up real quick to only get hit with a 2nd red light. Here's this joker again, lol.

He starts revving his engine again and looks at me and the light turns green and I ever so gently hit the gas pedal launching my car passing him again. I get hit with a 3rd red light! What joy! My wife calls me right at that moment and I just open the cellphone to tell her can't talk, gotta go... Too late, light turned green and the kid was off the line before me. I said to heck with that, I hit the gas real quick and bammmmmm, my engine making it's lovely sound passing him up again.

At the next red light he didn't even try it with me. That was fun.

Re: Douchebag civic driver

Hands own the funniest thing that ever happened to me was when my buddy took my 79 TA (403ci 4bbl) out for the first time after I bought it. We are sitting at the light windows down minding our own business when a guy in an eclipse pulled up and wanted to race. Light turned green he blazed off and we putted along to the next light, and when we get there the guy calls us a couple of "female reproductive organs". Light turns green he blazes off again and we putt up to the next light where my buddy pulls up next to him pulls out his badge and asks him exactly what it was he called us.

I laughed so hard i almost wet myself and the guy in the eclipse probably crapped his pants.

Should've took that T/A and smoked the boy. Then showed him the badge, lol.

CamaroIroc88350: Man, 3 times? Guess the guy didn't know when to give it up lol. I woulda stuck to 1 win and be satisfied (since you already know the rest of the outcome, why bother wasting gas?) Maybe that's just me?

Jharrison5: Nice man, that made my day!

No, not me. No sir. I figured it gets better each time and for the gas part, I'm not too worried about that. Money isn't the issue and showing that boy the street ropes was.

It's a shame that the idiots being mentioned just contribute more and more to trashing the reputation of nearly any import.

Even Civics can be made into very respectable cars when in the hands of the right person.

No........

The idiots being mentioned.......

Such as "Douchebag" civic driver..... People like that are pretty much destroying the reputation of imports, and the awesome cars that they can be made in to. By quite frankly just being, well you know, the R word. A friendly race is alright, but there's no need for them to start name calling.

Sorry, but if I were going to build an import, it damn sure would not be a Civic, I can think of many other imports that would be, and are alot more respectable cars....

Exactly, or something like an 80's or 90's Celica GT, but not a Civic!

Me neither, most likely. But, imagine something like a '99 Civic Si with American organs. A Viper V10/T56/Built 9" rear. I've seen RWD conversion Civics, they fit their inline 4 pretty good, firewall might need to be moved back a few inches to fit a 5 cylinder bank though.

A little, light, aerodynamic econobox, with a 6 speed, and enough torque to move the Earth. I'd daily drive it. They're a decent looking car, better than any hatch.

I gotta be honest, they have been growing on me over the years, especially since a few freinds of mine started building them. They do look very nice when clean like the pic you posted. 99% unfortunately are just autozone special cars with bondo, primer, and a fartcan. Then you have the typical quarter panel rust eating away at them. But EVERY once in a while I do run across a clean respectable one and I'm like, "damn....congrats to you!" I would hands down love to get a nice clean all motor civic for a daily driver. Some of the engine swaps with a few bolt ons will make around 200-210 whp which would FLY in that light little frame.

Re: Douchebag civic driver

Not much a honda fan, but that actually doesn't look so bad (see honda kids, you're ride can look like that instead of a loud slow-moving turtle).

I have respect for both worlds. Imports, I definitely like the '76 280Z Datsun. Much potential right there. I also like the 87-88 Mazda RX7. For four door imports, I like the 8th gen VR4 Galant (wish that was state side *sigh* along with the Subaru.

Shadowz: It's very possible for those hondas to get american organs, but like everything else, it just takes $$$. There's a honda around town (friend was telling me about it), and from what he was saying, it's primed up (nothing new about that with most honda owners). The kicker is, it's got a small block 350 and rwd converted.

I don't care much for hondas, but to be quite honest, if I were to go up against something like that, it's like bringing a knife to a gun fight. The power/weight ratios are far far in their favor. Kudos to that guy for going the distance and swapping out for some real power.

Re: Douchebag civic driver

So i was driving down the road on saturday listening to guns and roses and minding my own business when i saw a silver late model civic si flying up behind me. When he got next to me he slowed down and tried getting window to window to me. When he finally did, he was saying something to me but i couldnt hear it, so i had to turn down guns & roses to hear what he was saying.

This is what he said to me "Im going to beat your a**." This kinda stunned me a little bit but i ignored it and kept on driving while he was trying to show off in his car. He got next to me again and said "How do you want to do this?" So i said im not racing because im overheating and must have made him mad because he did the r i c e r fly by thing and drove off, and i went on my way.

So what would you guys have done if you were in my spot?
You probably did the right thing, an 09' SI did the same to me, and I reacted and destroyed his pos, and also got clocked by an undercover tahoe doing 140km/h in a 60 zone..

Re: Douchebag civic driver

I had problems all the time in highschool with civic drivers wanting a piece of the Montecarlo 350. Hell in my winter beater toyota solara I get people reving up at me. I think a lot of it comes from the TRD exhaust I installed and when ricers see that they think I really want to race but none of them seem to realize that even as a winter beater it is a 240 ish hp 5mt V6. Of couse that is still not as funny as when guys on harleys want to race my 155whp VFR. Young drivers are stupid and think 16s are fast best to ignore.

Dont even get me started on harley riders. I ride a DRZ400sm, with 440 kit, fcr-mx, cams, ect.

I love it when harley riders try to race the cute little dirtbike from a stop.

My 87 plymouth voyager was a good race for a Harley . They are pathetic. No joke, one day a tool on a Harley was tailing me in my beater voyager when I was going 45mph in a 40. He was probably 2 feet from my back bumper for miles. First straight section of road he got he went to "blow" around me and I hammered down. He was creeping past ever so slowly and couldn't make it before the next turn was coming so he slammed on his brakes and got back behind me. I'm not a schmuck behind the wheel but I was doing 5 over the speed limit and he was riding my bumper, so if he wanted to TRY to pass he was going to work for it.

Unfortunately none of just the voyager itself. Heres one of my old jeep with it in the background with a flat tire...

That thing was in our family since 87. My grandpa bought it brand new and when he passed away our family got it. I drove it for a while and then my brother got it. He blew the tranny so I put a new one in and drove it as a winter car. After that we swapped it around as members of our family needed a car and it blew the second tranny and we put in a third one. At 187K miles the engine went and we figured it was too much trying to keep saving it so we scrapped it. It was a very reliable car though, besides the weak transmissions.

At one point, my brother bought a chrysler 4 cylinder turbo engine for it and was going to swap it in. He rebuilt it and put a slightly larger turbo but decided not to go through with it so he sold it to some guy who was putting it in a dodge omni or something.

Yea so many are surprised when my 1982 V45 magna and 1986 VFR750F stomp all over them. But the VFR1200F is not joke hell with a 200 lb weight advantage and 70-95whp advantage I dont even have to try. Sometimes I like to let them think they are keeping up till about 60 before I open the throttle and make them see taillights. Trust me 0-100 in <6 sec is no joke.

At least a little more than that attitude. I don't go around swerving at random people, which could potentially kill someone if they do get nervous and attempt to slam on their brakes on a highway, or swerve to the side of the road to protect their self.

Seeing as how I drive a rusted 79 dually with very loose steering. I'm kinda all over the road anyway. My truck can act like I'm gonna swerve at someone when I'm just trying to keep it in the same lane.

They are just the kind of people we need on the road. I don't know what you're thinking, but nearly any Cummins powered Ram out there would more than likely rip your dually in half. Even back in 1989 when Dodge first stuffed a Cummins into the D250, D350, W250, W350, etc, they had 400 LB-FT of torque.. Now that little I6 is still on top, making double the torque they did in 1989. 800 LB-FT for 2011, they aren't far off of 400 HP either. Although the V8 diesels aren't far behind when it comes to torque, but still behind.

Why buy another slow car and be right back where you are, wanting a power adder setup for either car? I bought another slow car (the Mustang) only because I wanted something newer. Now I'm wanting a bike, because reality is it's going to take thousands upon thousands to make either car quick, the IROC or Mustang.

So I'm dumb? I think you'd find that a ton of people on this forum drive hondas since our 3rd gens aren't our only cars...

Then you can have 2 slow cars!

LOL...I would never want the headache of owning 2 camaros. My 86 TA gives me enough as it is. Don't get me wrong, I love it but it is nice to have a car that always starts right up when you want it to and get 30 mpg.

Yes, totally dumb. You're completely restoring the TA yourself, yet you're still dumb for driving a Civic.

That's exactly what I just said though.

Re: Douchebag civic driver

I'd sure hope so. I almost want to go back to my plan of saving for a C5 Corvette, or just buying a Yamaha R1. At least with a bike I'd have something that is truly fast. I want something quicker than a Mustang now. I should have kept saving, but at the time $7,000 +/- Mustang GT > $13,000+ for any decent shape C5 'Vette.

Not sure how much insurance would be affected but if you have a choice, go for a C5Z. They are such a better package than a C5 and they are by far the best looking Z's to me. At the prices they are going for these days I doubt you'd spend more than a couple grand over a standard C5.

Re: Douchebag civic driver

I'd hate myself if I bought a car with elf ears. I'd probably rip them side scoops/grills off if I ever owned a C5Z, which would more than likely make people question it's authenticity constantly.

I love the scoops! LOL...thought they were functional too. And I also thought they were painted the body color and not black. Maybe I just can't remember correctly haha.

Re: Douchebag civic driver

I'd love them if they didn't have that goofy curve to them, sort of like the C6 Z06 side scoops. Maybe I should get about 50 payday loans and buy a C6 Z06.

Re: Douchebag civic driver

I had a black 88 camaro, that was just my beater and i could care less about it. It had baout 275,000 miles on it and was getting ready to go.. poor thing... But anyways. a ******* in a brand new mustang gt pulls up thinking hes the ****. Running his mouth saying that my car was a POS and he would smoke me any day. I smiled at him like a wise *** and hit the horn 3 times, The third time i honked I jerked my wheel as hard as i could towards him... Smashed his driver side and forced him into a light pole.. (going about 40-45) Totalled his car and mine too. . It was fun. He got out all pissed and tried to hit me so i pulled out my bat from the camaro and beat the **** out of him. . I got 1 yr in prision for assualt with a deadly weapon and lost my license for 2 yrs.. wasnt worth it but hate people like that...

Now i just look at them laughing and giving them stupid looks to make them mad .. haha

I sure hope what I'm about to say does not get me banned. You're one ****ing dumb***, idiotic, irresponsible kid, if that story has any truth to it. For what it's worth, that GT would have spanked you, and with 275K on it, your car probably was a ragged out POS.

Swerving into someone at over 40 MPH is fun? Don't you mean attempted vehicular manslaughter and/or vehicular assault?

I personally think you've been watching too much fast and furious. Whatever the case may be, take your BS stories of attempted vehicular manslaughter and GTFO of TGO. It'd be better if you do. I think after that wonderful story, just about everyone here will hate you. Even the kid with the old dually truck wasn't nearly as bad, he only wants to pretend to swerve at people.

This is why theoretical racing sections of forums need to be done away with. It brings out all of the inbreds who have seen Tokyo Drift.
