Advice about the street race, from the pro-driver

Let me tell you a story and give you all some advice. If you are going to be street racing and you're young like myself, check your ego at the door, and KNOW WHEN TO QUIT OR GIVE UP.

I'm driving down a road I'm very familiar with today and I know that there is a dangerous sharp S-curve that I can't even take in my car at 50mph. The road is marked 35mph, but this is about a mile and half up the road still. We’ll I'm speeding and I jet by this kid in his "RICE" Acura Integra. Stickers and all, and an exhaust that sounds like a fart, HONEST TO *** . Didn’t even sound half way decent like a normal rice exhaust.

Well I guess he thought I wanted to race him cause he speeded up and started moving like lets go. So being a little stupid and earlier in the morning I waved bye and egged him on by jetting off. Or speed picked up with his front end near my rear fender when I noticed I was at 100mph I saw the curve coming up I knew it was time to quit so I began to brake.

Well MR. EGO yells LOSER out his window and losses control of his car and spins it all over the damn road and smashes into a tree and lands on the sidewalk. NO ONE CAN MAKE THAT TURN at 50MPH let alone 100+. I slowed down and he was out of his car cursing, I asked if he was alright and he replies "F*** you bitch!" Well sorry but I'm not the dumb *** who doesn't know when to quit I’m thinking. So I say to him, "Well you spent all that money making your car look fast, you couldn't even get a better suspension and handling package, geez your still using the stock tires." "Next time check your ego at the door, and your lucky your still alive man" I say. "Frick off @$$ wipe, I still beat you" is his response. Yeah you so beat me by slamming your car into the tree and smashing that nice 2000 Integra I’m thinking. I drove off after that.

No he didn't beat me, I just have enough sense to know when enough is enough. I feel kind of guilt for egging him on though. It may be partly my fault. At least he isn't dead. But this is a good example to learn from. An ego + speed kills!

This is a street racing board so I just wanted to share this experience I had today, maybe something can be learned. I'm 19yr old, and if some dummy wants to race fine, but I'm not risking my life over something so stupid as look how cool I am.

it's not really that funny but if someone is stupid enough to do something like that they need something to give them a little lesson.

dont try racing 100MPH on a road you dont know or around other traffic

Well since he didn't die or even hurt himself it sounds like that is funny as hell. That's what he gets for being an idiot. You never race around curves you're unfamilar with. Sucks that he wiped his car out, if he wasn't a bitch I'd feel sorry for him...

That was almost literally a "kill story".

I'm glad the dummy wasn't hurt. Maybe it knocked some sense into him??

I drive a 91 Firebird. It is a Bandit II edition... I am a member of TTAC. Do you know Stella Cooper? She owns an IROC and is in Camaro Legends I believe. I was out at your car show earlier this year at Hampton Chevrolet, but I did not have my car there. It is in need of a paint job.

That should give you an idea of what my car looks like
Do you have a website?

YUPPERS, www.mikekey.net I'm redesigning it though and my email, mike@mikekey.net. Just Remeber my name I was gonna join the Camaro Legneds but they never repiled to my email and they don't have the number on their website, so I'm alittle sad about that, I want to hang out with more Camaro owners!

All my camaro pics can be seen here

sharp looking car! If you need to contact Camaro Legends, email Ms.Monte@verizon.net, that is Stella. Just tell her you are interested in getting into the club, tell her Clint sent you and she'll hook you up. How long have you been ANG? I have been ADAF for almost a year now

See, this is why we always say only race on roads that you know. Immature jerk didn't even appreciate the fact that you stopped to see if he was ok. Oh well, no matter how much of a ego-trippin saw the fast n furious too many times rice kid he is, you still hate to see somone trash their car. Talk abouta kill story though!

HERES AN UPDATE I WAS OVER THERE AGAIN AND AT A GARAGE AROUND THE CORNER, round 12:30 at night we saw his car sitting there. So me and my g/f and friend matt got out to take a closer look. He screwed up his whole driv3ers side front fender and all his wheels but the back left are flat and ****ed up from going over the curve.

One axil is actually broken, he had the stock wheels on it from the dealership still plastic covers no alloy rims or anything.

So I have some of those rice tickets from www.ricecop.com so we wrote one ot and taped it to his drivers side window really good. HAHAHA, also wrote, next time don't race with stock compents in a family car.

ha ha! I'm in this lovely Va beach area too! I'll look for that curve sometime. I would have braved it at 55mph in my T/A just to be a fuuny guy. my 3000 GT handles solid too,but I'll wait to get better tires on it before I really throw it into curves. I'll give it a try with my rice-mobile,hopefully I'll live through it to tell the story.

these ricers run rampant around here!! why didn't they want to race when I drove my T/A but all of a sudden think I'm prime competion when I'm just cruis'n around in my japer-scrapper 3000 GT sl ? won't these guys get a life? some of just like to drive cool cars,we don't need to prove anything.
