Maxima...

Rolling at 80mph, I see him floor it and then so do I. I pull away hard and hit the speed limiter... slow down and wait for him... step on it again and start to pull, then all the sudden he passes me with no effort.. I heard they(some of them) have like 200 or 220 hp.. Anyway, I didn't stop and talk to him becuase I had an exit to take.. I'm wanding if he has stick and what would happen if I dropped it into D??

I was in OD the whole time....

What's the highest mph and rpm that I should take my D to?

Thanks

Until you feel the car stop pulling. It shouldn't matter, because a stock 700R4 will downshift out of OD to D after a certain throttle point.

those maximas are pretty quick, especially some of the newer ones. most of them can run in the high 14's w/ a good driver and a stick. i know i want one for a daily driver, after i get rid of the civic. i mean its a 4-door, with actual passenger room, and they aren't a dog.

but hey, given a choice id rather have an impala ss!!

In Novmeber, on a road racing course, I had quite a bit of trouble getting around a new Maxima - and there were 3 people in it! I was only about a half-second faster per lap. As I (finally) passed the thing, I saw that one of the instructors was driving the car. Even so, that was impressive drive for that car.
