junkyard success!
I finally found a good black interior to pillage! Over a year of looking off and on. Mind you it was cut in half so parts were limited but I got my seatbelt brackets for the seats, the console lid was nicer than mine, and a couple odds and ends for spare. Amazing how many dead cars you see that are missing the same parts you need. Actually did better for the car than the van I needed stuff for tho lol. Had to leave a nice set of black seats behind tho, this wrecker is a bit pricey so... too bad, but mine are still good! Just braggin about my success, anybody else???

i am in the process of hangling with Corey's Auto Wreckers for a set of 1995 Firebird seats, in grey leather. they are being dicks about the price.

Yeah that's where I was, didn't get to the 4th gens tho, I assume they are locked up anyway They usually have what you need but are pretty steep on the prices! Actually Shaw's let me pick a couple of Formulas over for nothin' so there wasn't much I needed except the black plastics! Guys with grey interiors and v6s or old LG4s must just love going to the wreckers!

I can vouch for that...
Shaws is a great place to find 4th gen interiors.... I haven't been out there lately but there should be a bunch of people totalling their 4th gens around october/november so I will be out there looking.

You can't beat Andy's for $, and i do know a guy at Shaw's and bought some major parts for the van there so they are great, but Corey's always mages to **** me off even when I score! Esp with the bright orange marker on the parts for my Firebird, WTF do they think I bought them for other than appearance and now they have paint on them!

junkers success
markham everynow and then has its 45 dollar parts day. and well i got it good, i pulled off front fenders for an 89 camaro, doors, door glass, nose, an 84 firebird nose. and my bro got several airbags, plus a bunch of tachs for his neon, and miscellaneous bolts. we pulled it all out on the hood of some japanese pos. and managed to take well over 400 bux of parts for just 90 bux for the both of us. it was a good day.

Yeah I haven't had much luck with Coreys... if you do find something they want a fortune... I found rear gears once and they wouldnt let me pull them.

My best score ever was when i got my tranny for the truck and the guy threw in a free bunch of unspecified parts. i got a trailer hitch (Class 3, brand new) lots of bits and pieces for the van and vultured a bird, tranny didn't work and the guy felt bad so I got to go back and pick up more goodies N/C Got leather and plastics for the interior, trunk stuff, all switches and a mint black dashpad that I don't even need! Next tranny worked great and I got double my $ worth in parts alone!:hail:

I scored a stock fiberglass hood for $50 from some Somalian at a wrecking yard. I thought that was a pretty sweet deal considering other yards wanted $175-$200 for a steel one.

I've always had good luck at the yards...
Got my LT1 for $1300 with wiring from a wrecker..thought that was pretty good.
Managed to score a full set of those plastic black seat bolt covers , all in mint shape and some other goodies off a trashed camaro..this thing was so bad it had shed door latch pins screwed to the doors on the outside to keep them closed. The guy drove the car to the yard as well!!
You guys in TO ever go to the yard near Barrie on the west side of the 400..can't remember the name. I got all my 6-speed swap parts less trans for like $150.

Thanks, I'll have to take a look the next time I'm out there. I looking for some rims, but wherever I call they don't have any. I was considering ordering some of of ebay, there's a guy in saskatchewan who has some for sale, but the shipping will kill me!
I may end up picking them up one or two at a time, unless anyone has extras they want to part with....

Mega City is a few blocks from Trafalgar and the 401. Didn't have much selection for our cars last time I was there. Mike's out in Stoney Creek had a couple of 4th gens last time I was there.

Anyone been out to Dom's just east of Oshawa?
I figure it being a GM town, they would have lots of parts for our cars, but I haven't been there in years......

Wel anyone in the east end of the GTA here is your latest update on whats left of 3rg gen f-bodies at Dom's in Courtice.
Only 4 cars to pillage from. I think only one or maybe two firebirds, but they have been sooooooo stripped that its hard to tell.
Out of the four, I found 1 good hood release cable, a lense for my gauges, ( I was told that gauges were sold as a package, - in regards to the speedo and it would normally be 65 bucks!
No way I was going to pay that for a piece of plastic. So after some negotiations, I got a hood release cable, the lens, and some other small parts for 30.00.
Seems kinda expensive, but if there are so few around..........
I think I'm going to start to look outside the GTA......
