That is not even cool... makes me not even want a system in my car... I don't want some pice of crap scratching up my paint and breaking my windows just so he can grab my subbox to pawn for some beer money.

I know you've got your system well documented with photos... so getting your $ from the insurance company shouldn't be a problem.... you might check the pawn shops but they usually hold onto stuff like that for around 6 months until it cools down.

I'd be looking into an alarm if you don't already have one.... your car is nice enough now that someone might try and grab it.

Dave is right. Most of the time your lucky to get even half of what you have into a sound system. It's total BS too, but that is they way they are...

In my policy, the maximum that is covered is $1500 unless you proved to them what its worth.Your premium will also go up a bit. I remember you telling about how it is impossible to steal the speakers. THat sux man

well no matter how well an system is put in and how difficult it may be to take out, a smash and bash job will do it in half the time. cause all they are looking for is subs and amps really.

by the way which area did this happen in?

He does not have said "screaming aggressive horsepower".

Alex, sorry to hear that. Did they damage anything? Do you have locks on those wheels?

well the police dusted for prints all over my car.

it appears they used a jimmy on the driver side door as that is what the dust marks showed.

then i guess they popped the hatch.

they did find 2 sets of prints... however both individuals were wearing gloves...

as i said the crooks hit 34 other cars so i am sure they were professionals...

I've lost a bunch of stereos over the years. I won't go big stereo any more unless it's gonna be watched all the time or locked up in the garage. It is not worth the hassle.

I'd love to catch someone stealing one. Wouldn't have to be mine either. I would take all my anger out on them. Beat them to a pulp.

One time somebody left the stereo but took this little digital gauge thing with RPM/TEMP ect. They threw a concrete block thru the driver side window putting a nice V in my roof in the process. They left the harness so the thing would not be any good to them anyway. It had a gazillion wires. Idiots.

i have lost 2 out of my third gens, the first one they smashed the window, the second time the doorknobs pryed the lock out of the door, destroying the door. Both times they stole it from right in front of my house, now i have a sensor light that turns on whenever anyone is around any of my vehicles.

Sorry to hear about that Alex.

I was really pissed off when mine got broken into at the Atrium parking lot on Bay Street although all they got was a socket set, a dremel, some oil filters and 4 litres of Crap Tyre 10W30.

The cops weren't too interested when I called them to report it.

It's really easy to get into a thirdgen.

I hate to say it but maybe if you didn't go around saying "Yo Yo look at my sound system DAWG!" It wouldn't have gotten stolen.

Do you turn it down when you get close to a parking lot or your parking garage? I have always done that and have never had my stuff stolen (knock on wood) I very rarely show off what I have unless I know the person. What % tint did you have?

the cover is always on the system.

i have limo tint on the back window which was done shortly after installing the system last summer.

what i think happened was the ****ers pulled out my deck and saw all the extra wires behind the deck, so they checked the trunk....

if i keep the car and put another system in, i am going to disable the trunk and weld all that **** into my car.

Or you could just put a solenoid on the trunk release switch so it will only open when the key is in the "ON" position..lol

Get a pager for your alarm, it won't make it impossible to steal, but if you happen to be near, and it goes off, you can get out there and smash their skulls in with a baseball bat and dispose of the bodies before anyone is the wiser.
All theives should suffer unspeakable pain.

My hatch won't pop unless you unlock it with a key. I disconnected the power release so it makes it much harder to get in there. It's not often I need to open it so using the key doesn't bother me at all.

I bet you that it's probably someone that you know and they also know exactly what kind of stuff you have in your car that did the job!
