Car: 1987 Iroc + 1989 R7U 1LE Players Engine: LS1 and LB9 5.0L Transmission: T56 and WC T5 | First ride of the year... wow How soon we forget what real power feels like. I just cant get over how damn smooth this car is... Its fast yes but it doesn't feel as fast as it is its so smooth and effortless. Its the most casual non violent feeling car with any kind of power I've ever owned. Anyone else been out yet?

Getting very very difficult now. I plan to take 5 days off, after exams, to wire up the T56, and align a few things, and hopefully ill be cruising May 1st. I find, washing the car out in the sun, on a gorgeous day (like today), letting it idle, and rev a few times, soothes the itch.
However, my itch is more of a rash, i havent even seen my car for like 3 months now. |

Car: 1987 Firebird Engine: 355 Transmission: T56 | Re: First ride of the year... wow I hate to sound like im nagging (in my old age....) but just a reminder to drive safe. Theres LOTS of built up steam to let out during the first drive, and cops are usually out in full force to catch you this time of year.
So dont give em a reason to get you. I was reminded this morning on the way to school, when i saw a cop cruiser behind one of these http://news.taume.com/World-Business...z-CL65-AMG-793
with a tow-truck in front of it. I guess he was speeding. It was a REALLY expensive looking thing, with a V8-Kompressor badge on the side :0.
Drive safe! |

True.
Even with the 50k limit there's nothing to stop yiou from full g's on the acceleration ramp. Even if it's only a couple a seconds. (More for others!) |

I'm not that eager yet, see how alot of streets in Ottawa still have 3 ft snow banks, but I'm hoping to be out mid May. |

Because i blew my budget on a T56 in February for a whopping $1800. The year before i spent roughly $2k on a new RPM airgap intake, headers, header wrap, Holley 750, 4 new 17" tires, 4 practically unused 17" wheels, a complete sound system, 3"y-pipe, and a cutout.
I used to be that guy who spent $200 a year, on various fasteners, some paint, and a couple of tools and balanced it out with ALOT of labour, but i felt this car deserved it.
This year was just supposed to be SFCs, but its now gonna be SFC's, inner wheel well mods, new paint job, hood, and possibly new suspension.
Birdy was SUPPOSED to go out today, i even borrowed my buddy's wheels (cuz mine will rub right now), but its pouring rain!!!
and i cant find the nut that holds the steering wheel on...... |

Anyway, i was supposed to be gone this weekend to a freind's cottage, so i wasnt gonna get the birdy out till saturday, but plans changed. Im working on insurance, hopefully ill be out tommorow.
I still cant find the FASTENER, but maybe i can improvise for now, it will turn up eventually.
As for track days, Calabogie is open. I think Luskville opens real soon. I think time trials have started, not sure when the cruise nights are. And im not exactly sure where to look up the auto-X schedule. | | | | |
