Speedorama autoshow in London

so...i went to Speedorama today in london. there were some nice cars there and a hell of a lot of ricers and rice related goodies. there was a nice 78 Nova and an 81 LeMans. i love those A-bodies. there was also a nice 68 Camaro SS, there. however my favourite car there would have to be this beautiful, black 82 Z-28. it had t-tops and a nice, stock interior. however what really made it nice was the 468 big block chevy up front. it seemed to fit in there quite nicely and had some nice full length headers that ran into some real nice side pipes. the nice flat balck pipes ran nicely under the ground effects and ended in front of the real wheels. he had some type of tube style muffler (hopefully not glass packs, you think he would have something nicer for a big block, maybe they were dynomax bullet mufflers, i couldnt tell for sure). but anyway it was nice and man i bet it would just fly. as i was checking out this sweet ride some guy in his mid 20s was standing next to me with his friends. he saw the automatic transmission and said "what a waste of a car, its got an automatic" the way he talked it sound like he though it wasnt a fast car.(by the way i cant remember if it was a 700r4 or not, but if it was it must have been right built up to withstand that big block). obviously this guy was a guy who either drives or would drive a *****. now i wish all f-bodies had manual transmissions, but this guy obviously had no idea what he was talking about; that car would have laid a world of hurt on any ***** there and almost any other car there, too. i was going to mention to him that while the car didnt have a stick, it DID have a 468 big block, but i decided to keep my mouth shut. however, other than that, it was a good show. and after seeing that Z-28, i would suggest anyone with the cash to afford a modded big block should drop it in there 3rd gen. sorry about the long post.

did anyone else go to speedorama and see this Z28? the sign said it was from windsor

i was disappoint overall with the lack of vendors for muscle car products but i was able to talk to the guys from Northern Prototype Development. They are located outside of mitchell on highway 23 and they seem to have some good prices and were very nice. they can get just about any parts you want.

as for the 10 dollar admission, yeah that is way to high...but i think it has been 10 bucks the last 3 years i have went.

and there was way too much rice. i am not into stereo or tv mods what so ever. all i have is a simple indash cd player and thats it and will always be it.

I know I went to the one in toronto a couple of months ago and I was very very very disapointed. Speedorama is not what it use to be, went to performance world a couple of weeks ago and that show was killer, it was huge! Dont know if its the same cars that do the tour, but there was alot of imports there at speedorama

I'm from London... I bailed on speedorama (AKA rice-o-rama) this year. I went to Detroit Autorama instead. That big block camaro from windsor was there too, I think I even have a pic of it.

Yeah, I went to Rice-o-rama, er, Speed-o-rama and as usual, It was disappionting. Every year, I never learn!!! It's like getting really drunk. You keep saying never again, but..... I liked the 82Z28. It is almost identical to my 83 except, of course, for the big block!! Too much CASCAR stuff also.
