A new best ET

i just got back from the track For the first time in years i improved upon my best time. Check sig. Has any one ever herd of running better et's with 92% throttle than with 100%? well I forgot to really mash on the throttle like i always did to get the pedal all the way to the floor. the carpet is blocking pedal travel a bit. To my surprize it yealded 3 tenths better than other passes. What could be causing this? is there an error in my tuning? BTW the embarrasment on that GT owner's face was priceless. I beat him by 2.2 seconds. Oh yea I beat a bike at the track too harley owners just don't get it do they.

Those are some impressive numbers, man!! It seems like we were just having a discussion and a guy said that a large tube runner setup will never run 13's...I guess you proved him wrong. I can't wait to get my new setup to the track.

Did you race at HRP? I hear that is one of the best tracks in the US. Me and my friends were thinking about taking a roadtrip out to there and race. I know that is a long way, but it would be a fun drive and I would like to see what my car would do there. I don't think the tracks in Georgia are up to par with the rest of the country. Everyone seems to run slow here. But I don't know.

I wonder if we could get a list going of the fastest bolton cars? I always wanted to see how everyone else was running. But I am sure there are going to be a few people that will ruin it with some bogus time. I still would like to start a list if anyone else is interested.

I was racing at amarillo drag way. It is a slow track with not much grip and 3700 ft altitude. I was actualy thinking of running at HRP but it is a 10 hour drive from here and that is going to be a long way to trailer my car. I am never going to take the iroc on a highway trip agian. My truck is soo much nicer on the road.

How do you calculate corrected et and mph? I was also at amarillo dragway and the best I saw you run was a 14.7 at like 94 mph.

by the way I ran 14.6 at 96 mph what would that be corrected for sea level

I could not get the 60 foot right most of the time i was turning in 2.2's. my second run i got a 2.01 it netted a 14.127 @96.6 I used NHRA correction factors to get my ET from 3700 ft. I ran a 14.77 @94.8 and a 14.50@95.5 a 14.58 @ 95.1 and a 14.72 @ 95.3. I could not get the car to hook up but i got one decent run out of it. a 14.6 would be a 13.94 at sealevel. There is alot more in your car than you are wrenching out of it. There are a few tricks you need to know about. number 1 open your hood and let the car cool down. opening the hood allows the intake to cool much better. Get some stickier tires. I am going to get some slicks here before next season when i get them i will let you make a few runs on them. Ice the intake between runs. It is good for 2 tenths. Hot air equals detonation with the right tune. I was wondering here in the next few months i was planing a setup similar to yours but with the vortec heads any advice on what you wish you would have done? I am also going to build an engine for nitrous i want to spray at least a 200 shot.

so far the thing that i would have done differently is first probably the heads, instead of using the corvette i would have gone with the trick flow or the afr 195. I hear that they are both really nice heads. next I porbably would have saved for a mini ram instead of getting the ltr and base.

by the way are you going to the track on the 27th? I will be there hopefully with a set of slicks this time. I have got to do something all I can get is a 2.3 60' If you are there I will let you run on them a couple of times if you want.

If it's like the TBI and V6 guys, the correction equation is:

ET - 2sec = corrected ET
MPH + 10mph = corrected MPH
