Looking for my next mod

I just dropped a 305 TPI out of an 88 Iroc into my 91 RS and I don't know what I want to do next. So far I have a Granatelli 255lph. fuel pump, Accel #24 injectors, an MSD Blaster coil, K&N filters, 3" flowmaster exhaust, and a few free things like the throttle body coolant bypass and I punched the screens out of my maf. I'm looking for more things to do that aren't extremely expensive and that will show me the most power gains. I know I really shouldn't be posting this since it's really just an opinion that I'm asking for but there's not really any F-body guys around here so I'm on my own. If anyone has any ideas thank you.

first of all why do you have 24# injectors on a 305? anywho......i would do headers and get some different runners. and if you want to go more into i would suggest a mild cam and some porting on those heads

What are stock injector size? Three of my stock injectors were stuck open so since I needed new ones why not upgrade? right now I'm looking for something that I don't have to tear into my engine to install. Since I just dropped it in I'm kinda trying to take it easy for a few months. Thanks anyway.

Are you burning chips yet? That'd be a great mod. Bigger injectors without telling the computer is definitely a downgrade (except when 3 injectors suck - but it's gonna still be extremely extremely rich at full throttle = BAD - I mean extremely rich). Bigger injectors when more flow is not needed, is actually a downgrade (idle quality can suffer). Stock 305's used 19pph injectors.
The fuel pump isn't giving any more power than a stock replacement either, but it's not hurting anything.
Descreening the MAF is usually accompanied by problems as well - and also should be accompanied by some chip tuning.

You want good results? Headers and Torque Converter (2200-2600). You won't regret it (except trying to keep the bolts tight and gaskets happy). Also a tranny shift kit makes for a more fun car.

If you don't want to tear into the engine very far, you can put some 1.6 rocker arms on for a little more power (admittedly not a lot of power, but heck, you're the one wanting to stay out of the internals, right?).

Other than that, make sure the stock stuff works as good as new, and run it til it pukes, and finish the buildup of a 350-383-whatever before it finally lets go.

I already have a shift kit and my performance isn't suffering from any of the mods I've done. My car is suprisingly fast for a tpi, especially with 273 gears. I plan on building up the 305 for now since it only has around 20,000 miles on it and runs great. I'm just looking for something fast and not too time consuming. I'm pretty much just bored but not motivated enough to do anything major.

If it's only got 2.73 gears, I would start there!

I've been thinking the same thing. I'm sure gears would make the biggest difference right now. Time to get some prices.

Go with at least 3.23 if not 3.42 gears. This will improve acceleration and will still allow you to drive above 55mph without turning too many rpms.

I have 3.23 gears in my '85 and in 4th gear i only turn 2200 rpm@70 mph

22-23mpg @ 70-75 mph

Thanks for the ideas. I was planning on going with 3.42 gears but this is going to be delayed a little. I just blew my tranny so it looks like I'm gonna be building that up instead right now. Maybe I can do the gears next month. I guess I'll find out then.
