in that diagram that says runners. I just cut those out and grinded them back as far as I could. do this at your own risk.

I think he's talking about the air filter ducting. Not the intake. If so, yes his is one of the most restrictive. - what evr you do, don't use metal unless it's well painted/powder coated. The heat sink of polished is horrid...

Geese man , mine and your cars are VERY close in every way I made 251 rwhp and 318 rwtq( 083 heads and ZZ4 cam) . With the same intake you have ( I am above your origonal post) ...same goodyear blue hoses and we had the same idea of buffing the fins and podercoating the intake.

I did the same thing and it just seemed right to me because the walls are restrictive.

I have the stock runners w/305 setup.

I am not telling you to do it. I am only saying it did not disrupt my idle and because I did alot of mods with it I could not tell you about the performance enhancement

Most people would say that it benefits topend power, but on my LB9 i could break the tires loose from a dead stop after i did that, where as i couldnt break them loose before.

When i cut down the EGR walls behind the throttle body it did help out on the topend.

LB9 + 700R4 + 2:73 Rear + New Tires =Great Traction

kewl

well a L98 + 700r4+ 2.73 rear with new tires i still have no problem lighting the tires up from a stop.

I would like to keep the TPI look but i want to make some decent power with it . My gn puts down 350 @ the wheels on pump gas a low boost. i ould like to have the maro get close to 300 @ the wheels.

i'm going to the track today and run it 1/8 mile i'm thinking 10's here i come lol

That and 45 more cubes will make a difference compared to a stock 305.

Ours look pretty similar!

I haven't decided if I'll keep this air ducting or not. My truck doesn't need more than 4500 rpm anyways, so I'll probally leave it, and slap a paper filter on the end. Looks very nice, and it's open is directly infront of a big 3 - 4" hole in my rad where my factory air cleaner used to hook up to get fresh air from the grill
