Lunati or comp cam

hey ..

im about to put my 1991 z28 convertible back together ...

i have a 305 tpi .. but have got a few things i am putting on the motor ..

summit racing vortec heads (170cc, 67cc, max lift .520)
edelbrock vortec tpi intake manifold
edelbrock tubular headers

and a cam .. but i cant decide which to put in ..

ive looked around and done some research and i came up with the

comp cam 252xfi h13 ..

or

lunati 60101 ..

any suggestions would be appreciated .. i dont get home from school in time to call lunati or comp cams ..

would like to have alot of low end torque and redline at 5500 ..

also i dont want to kill the mpg b/c i will drive it daily to college and back ..

oh .. its a 5 speed ..

thanx

Re: Lunati or comp cam

I have a Lunati "bracket master II" or something along that name in my 87 GTA and it sounds amazing. Real mean sounding. It makes the car idle rough but it was awesome. I forget exactly what they were i have the magazine around somewhere i can find if you'd like.

Re: Lunati or comp cam

you know with those heads youre going to lose compression as your stock heads are 58cc and those are 67cc.

Re: Lunati or comp cam

http://www.holley.com/data/Catalogs/...%20Section.pdf

Look at pages 52-53, 58 (above the supercharger and NOS cams), as listed on the pages. You might find what you need, Lunati does have computer compatible cams. Some are even listed as "Perfect for TBI", or "TPI". You might wanna skim the rest of the catalog too, there's probably a bunch of cams you'd like, there's so many.

You might even wanna call Holley and see if someone there can help you some, I hear the tech support's good.

Re: Lunati or comp cam

i got new pistons that had a flatter top and they said they get 8.5 w/ a 64 cc head .. so im hoping 3cc dont make much difference ..

yea .. im still lookin ..

i think im gonna go w/ the lunati 60101 .. ill probably call lunati monday ..
