mat and cts the same?????

I bought a mat today at carquest. It said coolant temperature on the box. I asked about that and we ran the numbers, turns out to be the same part number. Is that right?

Depends on the year of your car. On most Thirdgens, the CTS and MAT are the same. Which is why the newer LT-1 MAT is a better because it is specifically designed to measure air temperatures and its faster reacting.

I believe 1992s used the newer type, but I may be incorrect. It has been awhile since I investigated all of this stuff.
