Yellow/Orange spark at coil

Hi again guys!

I think I've found a major component in my fuel mileage/miss at idle problem. I hooked a spark plug into the distributor end of my coil wire, and had someone crank the motor a few times. The spark was yellow/orange instead of blue/white. This coil was new 1500 miles ago (although cheap). I swapped the coil with an original gm coil my dad had lying around. Same thing. What are your suggestions? Should I check wiring or just buy another new coil?

Re: Yellow/Orange spark at coil

So I did the 3 part coil test listed in the chiltons manual, my newer coil passed all three. I also did the coil winding continuity test. All terminals came out to 8.5 ohms. So the coil is good right? Where do I go from here?
