injector question

i bought Ford SVO 19lbers for my 305. I noticed when putting the fuel rail back on that the injectors seem a little too short. They move up and down, dont remember the stock injectors doing that. Just wondering if this is ok or does something need to be done. I dont want to put the car back together to find out that they are leaking fuel all over the place.

Re: injector question

Did you use the injector clips to hold them into the fuel rail? The ford injectors are slightly shorter than the stock ones, but the clips keep them from sliding too far up into the fuel rail. Should look like this:

Re: injector question

actually my clips broke when i was taking the old ones out. I read in other posts here that they arent really needed. I see what you are saying about keeping them from sliding too far into the fuel rail.. Is there any other way around this...im hoping to get it all together this weekend

Re: injector question

I've heard of people not using the clips, but I would still recommend using them for good measure. I'm sure someone sells them, maybe autozone/o'reillys, or even the dealer.

Autozone carries them VERY INEXPENSIVELY....They are well worth the cost versus burning down your car.
