Aother carb to tpi swap... just a few questions...
i built a 305 chevy with vortec heads and a few other things...
i have pretty much just 2 questions...
is it possible to siames the stock styl runners? i see many post on doing this to aftermarket runnes. would it be beneficial to siamese the base intake? and since it is a dry manifold will it also be benecifial to polish the plenum and runners?
2- since i dont have money for a vortec base manifold, how will a set of pocket ported 416 heads flow compared to vortec 305 heads? which flow around 225 on the intake... im gonna pocket port then gasket match the intake and exhaust, and have the valves get a 30 degree backcut...
and also will it make more power than my current combo? which is vortec 520 casting heads (1.84/1.5 valves, completely stock), procomp square bore manifold, and an edelbrock 600 cfm carb. summit 1103 cam and headers...
pretty much it will be vs a stock tpi with ported heads, and the same cam and headers...
thanks

Not a lot of metal to cut out on stock runners
Base is worth doing if you have time on your hands

Port the plenum while you are at it
