Good Cams That Sound Good & Make Power??

I Want To Cam My 350 TPI, I Want Something That Makes Good Power & Sounds Good. I Plan On Heads And Stroking It But For Now I Just Want Something With A Choppy Idle & Give Me Power.

I've Heard & Seen What 2032's & ZZ4's Can Do But I Want Something More Loud And That Makes More Power.

Choppy idle and EFI do not go in the same sentence

Be aware the major restriction to power on a TPI is the intake;
until you change or mod that a cam swap will have little benefit for the $$ spent considering you have to dismantle 1/2 the engine for a cam swap

Oh Yeah I'm Aware Of That, I'll Get To Porting The Runners, Plenum & Intake Soon But I Just Wanted To Cam It First. After I'm Also Thinking Of Going With Vortec Heads As Well.

Re: Good Cams That Sound Good & Make Power??

Choppy idle and EFI go together well if you have a LS1 car. The computer systems in these cars are pretty archaic compared to the newer stuff. When I was younger I owned a 02 Camaro with a cam that chopped like no other, and still drove like stock.

These first gen EFI systems are very finicky when I comes to cams. You will need a cam in the 114 - 115 or more LSA range. I hear people using the stock lt1 cam with good results.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but if you re-read the original post, I think you'll see we're NOWHERE near being able to explain your point in this thread. He said he wanted it "more loud". ...I don't think we need to discuss LSX engine management just yet!!!!! LOL

To the OP, no cam that's really any choppier than the cams you listed will work well with even a ported TPI. They just don't work well together, and they'll be even worse with heads, and more cubic inches. Basically, you have three things. A choppy cam, performance, and a TPI intake. You can choose 2 of the 3.

Re: Good Cams That Sound Good & Make Power??

Choose a mild cam to compliment the TPI powerband, then lower the idle until you get the chop you want. My cam is fairly mild, but has a 112 lsa. At 750 rpm it idles like stock, but at 550 it sounds like a harley.

Re: Good Cams That Sound Good & Make Power??

Oh Ok I See, Yeah I'm Really Trying To See What I Can Get Out Of This TPI Before I Go With An LS Motor But It Seems That TPI's Are Just A Waste Of Time & Money. So Maybe I'll Just Throw In A Cam To Get A Nice Sounding Car & Save Up For An LS Swap. I Was Looking At The Lunatir Flat Tappet Cam It Sounded Pretty Good On A Youtube Video Here's The Model # If Any Of You Guys Have Heard Or Seen A Car In Person With This Cam

Model # Lunati 00010LK

I Kind Of Wanted To Stroke It & Port Out The Runners/Plenum/Intake Manifold But I Still See TPI's Barely Making 350HP At The Wheels With All Of That & I'm Looking For Around Maybe 420 RWHP On 91 Octane Pump Gas With A TPI For Me To Keep It.
