exhaust manifolds no gasktes????
Ive heard and read about the tpi's not using manifold gaskets. Can anyone shine on this? Ive been looking for gaskets and they are all cheap paper kind. I wanted some metal or high quality ones. Can anyone direct me just in case I do need them....

Re: exhaust manifolds no gasktes????
From the factory, mine did not have gaskets. I think they can control the machining better. For headers, gaskets are a must. Old school trick I got from a local exhaust guy is to take the fiber gaskets and soak them in water for about 15 minutes prior to installing. Makes them pliant enough to conform easily to the headers.
I'm sure others will have more suggestions for you.

Best header gaskets I've found is the Mr. Gasket Ultra Seal. But for manifolds I'd probably not use any.

using gaskets with manifolds to seal to the head will only ensure you will have exhaust leaks.
putting a very thin layer of Permatex ultra copper is the most you need to do.
