A Few Quick Questions
Came back from college for the summer, need to know a few things before I can continue repairs.
1. How air-tight does the egr valve need to be? If I put it to my lips I can push a tiny tiny amount of air through it when its closed.
2. What is this connector? Its near the battery.
3. What does this thing connect to? I cut it out because the wiring got crushed. It came from near the coil and back of plenum area.
4. This thing is for windshield wipers right?
May post more questions later... Thanks for reading

Re: A Few Quick Questions
1) don't know
2) ECM? alternator? Go here for diagrams.
3) EGR temp sensor. When EGR is active, it gets hot, to tell the ECM that the EGR is working.
4) check valve from manifold vacuum. The line running into the cabin goes to the heater controls. Opens vacuum flags, controls the heater core bypass valve (next to throttle body).

Re: A Few Quick Questions
What part are you referring to as "air tight"? Where on the egr are you putting your lips? Test it using a vacuum pump. If vacuum bleeds down, replace it.

Re: A Few Quick Questions
Back to egr, if I blow on the bottom part (not the part that gets vacuum, the holes on the bottom that go to exhaust and intake) of the egr valve I can barely push air through it while the valve is closed. The valve will not leak vacuum if I put a pump on it. I dont want to assemble everything again with a bad part. Do I have a bad valve?
As for the solenoid, it works perfectly, but only has .24 resistance rather than the 30-90 that most people say is good.
