Bad fuel injector?...and other issues.
So a few months ago my '92 T/A I replaced the top end of the engine (Edelbrock TPI intake base, SLP runners, port matched the plenum, Bosch 3 fuel injectors, SouthBay AFPR, etc.). The fuel injectors are Bosch 3's that I picked up used. I sent them to Southbay to add the adapters to account for the Edelbrock intake. Everything went back together fairly well. I got the car started and it idled fine, but when put in gear it didn't want to get out of its own way. It would stumble and putter until I got going and then it would run fine, just no real acceleration. I finally got frustrated and took it to a mechanic. He ended up replacing the fuel pump. That fixed fuel pressure issues, but not the stumbling. He checked the wiring and other areas and concluded it was bad fuel injectors (I didn't have him replace them because that was a job I could easily do). During his troubleshooting he swapped out the dizzy, which didn't help anything, and put the original back in. Now I can get it running, but I cannot get the car to run right. Now, in order to get the car started, I had to move the dizzy about two teeth backward. When I do that, I completely loose sight of the timing mark so I cannot see where the mark it when the car is running (yes I disconnected the EST).
Additionally, the car will idle a little rough for a few seconds and then cut off, except when I disconnect the #1 fuel injector. If it is disconnected, the car idles just fine (although I still cannot find the timing mark with the timing light). I don't understand why it would do that. I am super frustrated and need help. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

What Bosch-IIIs did you get? And did you at least adjust the voltage offsets in the calibration? If the flow rate is also different then you'll need to adjust for that as well.

I haven't ohm'd the injector yet. Plugs are new and look good & gapped properly. Fuel pressure stays solid after priming.

.I think? i know what your problem is. If you have an edelbrock intake then you shouldn't have had us apply the adapters. The injectors with the adapters are for stock setups. due to the fact that you have an aftermarket intake the injectors are sitting too high up into the fuel rail. Please give us a call 516-442-4707

Re: Bad fuel injector?...and other issues.
I just used southbay Bosch 3s( with adapters from when I was running a stock intake) on my tpis big mouth intake( essentially the same as your edelbrock). It can be done all you need is a few washers to essentially equal the thickness of a fuel injector O ring. You place the washers at the top of your fuel rail pedestals then add your rail with injectors in the base, torque it down and you should have just enough clearance and no leaks.

Re: Bad fuel injector?...and other issues.
I didn't contact you guys because I'd bought the injectors used from a member here on TGO, so in no way was I trying to infer that this issue was your fault in any way. I had PM'd you guys after I got them and then I sent the injectors to you to have the adapters put on because that was what I was advised to do. It was stated that the injectors were going to be used with an Edelbrock intake (3860). I'll try to call you within the next couple of days.
I'm basically mentioning this so everyone will know to never hesitate to contact us.
You spoke with someone at the shop and they told you to apply the adapters with an edelbrock intake??????? Huh???
Well then my apologies. Please call us anyway. 516-442-4707
You can use a couple of washers.
