ok need help

i've had some serious vibrations with my car sounds like an out of balance driveshaft, it's a 5 speed, it can be felt with the clutch pedal pressed and the rpms around 2k 2500, slightly, on the highway it's much much worse by listening it's coming from the flywheel clutch area and it's pissing me off, i installed a new flywheel new pilot bearing and a new autozone clutch kit, theres no marks on the flywheel to align it to the pressure plate, so what gives? what could be wrong? is a new flywheel from GM balanced? it's a 305/5 speed combo 1986 1 piece rear main seal.

anyone? there was an x on the pressure plate but no marks on the flywheel is it possible to put the pressure plate on a certain way that would cause vibes like that?

I'm pretty sure 305s and 350s are internally balanced so you flywheel should be neutral. I think the only aligning that needs to be done on the pressure plate is to get the input shaft in. Since your car is running I doubt anything is wrong there. I know this might sound stupid but did you check your u joints? What about your trans mount? I would go back and check everything you worked on under the car just to make sure no bolts have been missed or have come loose. just a thought.

One-piece rear main flywheel is externally balanced. I believe it's indexed so it can only be installed one way, but I'm not where I can go out and look at one right now (I've only removed, never installed one).

If it didn't do it before the new parts, you may be a "Zonie Victim".

yeah there is a dowel on the crank that only lets the flywheel go on 1 way, but what i'm asking is can you put the pressure plate on a certain way to throw it out of balance as the pressure plate is balanced also, i did 4 things at once so i dont know which is doing it, i did tranny rebuild, flywheel, clutch new u joints. i'm sure if it was something in the tranny it would have broke by now

There should be a seventh hole on your flywheel in the bolt circle.
This is supposed to go over a dowel pin on your crank. This seventh hole is not spaced evenly with the other six so the flywheel will only go on one way. Someone may have removed the dowel pin from your crank, if so just line up the two odd holes.

ok no one is paying attention, the flywheel only goes on one way and i do have the dowel pin on the crank, i'm asking your supposed to line up the x on the pressure plate to the mark on the flywheel, i do not have a mark on my flywheel, so if i put the pressure plate on any which way would that give me a vibration?

I know one time on my dads truck he didnt get one of the u joints on right or something and that caused a vibration, but if it does it when it is sitting still that shouldnt be it. It could just be a bad autozone part(not like that ever happens).

To answer 86Z's question, it shouldn't matter which way you put on the pressure plate, since it's (supposedly) neutrally balanced as well. If it's causing vibration, it's a bad part.
