OK... Enough is enough!!!

Enough transmission crap!

I get the damn RS tranny built, now the GTP tranny takes a dump!

I guess I'll be rebuilding this one too!

Another $1000+ I have to spend!

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Being a 1998, it went out of warranty back in 2001.

What is wrong with it? I work on 4T65-E transmissions regularly. Does it slip some, or does it flat out not move?

Sometimes it acts like Im neutral dropping it. You know... Reeevvvvv... bang! Fluid level is OK and is still red. Someone told me it might be the converter. Hey GMTech, whats the stall speed of the converter supposed to be? Scott at Art Carr says 1800. This car will stall (hold brakes, gas to the floor) at 3000.

BTW... No codes!

Sounds like it needs a Pressure Control Solenoid. I have done TONS of these. The part itself is cheap (Approx $50 from dealer), its the installation that can be a PITA. The Solenoid used to be $300+, but GM was replaceing so many of them under warranty, I guess they felt they were ripping themselves off!

Also... when accelerating though say 2nd gear, the tranny makes this awwful growling moaning sound. I was thinking maybe a bushing/bearing could be shot also. Plus, I think I damaged something internally when we had the snow storm here earlier this year. I am guilty of "rocking the car back and forth". What do you think I should do? Should I go ahead and try to rebuild it myself? Its been a while since I've rebuilt an automatic...
