turbo 350
I have a 91 RS with the original TBI 305. I have already have gone thru 2 T5 transmissions. I don't have 2grand for the T56 swap. I am planning on putting a turbo 350 tranney in for now.
I have a tranney, a longer driveshaft, tork arm adapter, and crossmember adapter. my question is about the speedometer. Do I need a vss to run my speedometer and if so, witch one. I went to JTR web site but I am still confused

1 more ?
I ran into another problem. I went looking for a flexplate and could not figure whitch to use. the 700r4 unit for a 91 has a counter weight. is my 305 externaly balanced???
If so, will the overdrive flexplate work with the turbo 350

The 305 is a mix between internal & external balancing. The one-piece rear main seal requires a counterweight on the flexplate, so it is "external" in that sense. The damper on the front of the engine is neutral balanced, as in internal. Overall, it's considered internally balanced.
The flexplate should work with the TH350.

Thanks for the info five7kid. I kind of thought the overdrive flexplate would be the way to go but it is nice to have your input.
Any idea on the speedo????
